Re: New User - Nose irritation

I had the same mask, but found that my nose hurt too. I got the P30i nasal cushion, which is made for and fits your frame, and found it way, way more confortable. We're all different, but maybe it would help you too.

Re: Change minimum pressure on DreamStation

Thanks Pugsy! I can do my first three month reorder on April 1, so I'll probably get a couple then.

Re: Change minimum pressure on DreamStation

I have a new question. I use a pillows mask (Airfit P30i) and have used both small and medium pillows. Is there any disadvantage to using a size large, even if I don't have large nostrils? (I switched to medium when I read advice from you folks saying larger is usually better, and it was) I had a ro...

Re: Change minimum pressure on DreamStation

Thanks Zonker! How did you know that you needed one? Do you get a better AHI now that you use it?

Re: Change minimum pressure on DreamStation

Also, as to the problem I had with cold air blowing up my nose, I started using the preheat cycle on my apap, and the warmer air blowing is much more comfortable. Doing that helped a lot.

Re: Change minimum pressure on DreamStation

Do any of you sleep on a special cervical pillow to support your neck and keep your head back? These are supposed to help correct apnea by keeping your chin from being tucked down. I'm mostly getting good AHI numbers; between 1.0 and less than 3. I'm also thinking of a cervical collar, but haven't o...

Re: I finally found something to keep my mouth shut

Also which helps you drop your AHI better? Set your CPAP pressures to control your AHI. A firm foam cervical collar is used for two reasons. The first is to hold your neck in the best position for airway patency. This might allow you to use lower CPAP pressures. The second reason is to help prevent...

Re: I finally found something to keep my mouth shut

So do most of you find the Dr. Dakota or a neck brace/collar more comfortable? Also which helps you drop your AHI better?

Re: Any suggestions on new mask?

I have the P30i too, and like it quite well. As a caveat, I'm a newbie; just started using an APAP at the very end of 2019. I first had a Dreamwear full face mask, but began to wonder if I actually need a full face. My husband had a spare nasal mask which I used a couple of nights. It had a front ho...

Re: Change minimum pressure on DreamStation

Thanks Pugsy. I have the heated hose set on it's highest setting. So a hose cover of some kind is the best I can do I guess. I'll start looking online to see what's available. I hate the cold air blowing in my nose.

Re: No Frontal Sinuses! Uars solved!! (for me)

I don't have them either. My ENT said they don't develop until a child is eight years old, and a small number of people never develop them. He said in my case I was better off without them, as if I had them, they'd be full of infection to!

Re: Change minimum pressure on DreamStation

Thanks folks! I changed my beginning pressure to 6.5 and have tweaked pressure relief items and am breathing more comfortably. I have another question not related to pressure settings, but I think I am supposed to ask here in this thread so here goes: I find that even with a heated hose the air that...

Change minimum pressure on DreamStation

How do I change the minimum pressure on my DreamStation Auto CPAP machine? I see that many of you know how to do this, and I have searched hard for instructions on how to change the pressure on my particular machine, but I cannot find the correct instructions. Thanks in advance for your help! Deborah
