Re: Still waking, brain fog, please check my charts

I'm not good at charts, but your AHI is a little high, 5 is considered the best value. You are generally just a little high. AHI may improve when you conquer mask leakage. I personally would not worry about AHI right now. MIne is 4-8 and I feel great. Your last night was the worst so far. I see you ...

Re: Can an ASV be made to perform as a BiLevel?

It seems that if you set the Min and Max EPAP to the value (same number) you want and the Pressure Support as a single number (Max and Min) for the IPAP you want, and enable Biflex (on Respironic System One BiPap Auto SV advanced) it would work. Set the Max pressure for EPAP + PS. If you put differe...

Nate, what a great way to handle things. I'm glad you did the research.

Re: For Sale: PR System 1 BiPAP Auto SV Advanced- 193 hrs $995

It's a really fine machine. If they weren't so expensive I think this is the only machine that should be prescribed for serious, compliant users. I have mainly hypopneas and could not get my AHI down under 18. With the ASV my AHI is 4-8. I have more energy, rarely get sleepy during the day, sleep 8 ...

Re: Getting really pissed at myself now!

Well, don't get pissed off at yourself! It's frustrating, but you got better before and you will again. Who knows what goes on in our heads when we're sleeping? You know the things to do to prevent you from taking the mask off in the night so take a deep breath, have a good laugh at your stubborn ma...

Re: New hose head here

Dave, welcome to the forum. You got a good machine.
Sometimes it takes a couple of months to feel better, sometimes it happens overnight. You're off to a good start. Keep us posted on your progress.

Re: Where does your data come from?

I'm not familiar with your machine. I have a Respironics System One and it has a data card that I read in the computer using the Sleepyhead software for the detailed data. My machine also gives some data in the Info section on the LCD screen.

Re: Doc got things wrong! Now have to start again!!!

Simplyme, I think we all learned a lesson from your story. It's so easy to blame failure on the cpap user as your old doctor did. If it's just impossible to wear the mask and the feeling of claustrophobia and lack of air continues, it's time for a second opinion and perhaps a new sleep study. Most o...

Any one else have their teeth rearranged by the mask pressur

I have been using the FitLife Total Face mask for a long time. I recently changed to the quattro fx because the pressure of the mask on my bottom teeth has moved them all closer together. Now they are quite crooked and overlapping. The FX puts pressure on the same area however so I don't know that i...

Re: Machine not working

Yes, suecava, I was that kind of worry wart. The skin on my nose had broken down quite badly and I insisted on continuing to use my mask while trying to find a way to protect my nose. It kept getting worse until my partner had to put her foot down and made me take 20 days off the machine to allow my...

Could the tubing have been damaged? A pinhole may cause leaking, but I am just guessing.

Re: ████¯\(º_º)/¯████ !!! Taming the Respironics ASV

My system one ASV is set as follows EPAP 8 min & max 8, PS min 4, max 12, max pressure 20, Ti 2.5, BPM auto. I get along fine with it- none of the preessure surges you describe. I have plenty of time for inhalation and exhalation.

Re: full face mask

I like a FFM. I am a mouth breather due to nasal congestion that frequently pops up when I go to bed. I have used the FitLife Total Face Mask from Respironics, the ultra miirage, old quattro, and the quattro fx by ResMed. I like the quattro fx the best. The old quattro rested hard plastic on the bri...

Re: The Fortunate few

Sloop, glad to hear CPAP therapy is going well for both of you. Your wife is fortunate to have you to help things along. Many newcomers do not know they can exchange masks. I've been fortunate also. Reading this an other forums, and having the rare excellent DME tech things have gone well for me, too.
