Re: When/if to repeat a sleep test

So, I'm not quite sure what to do in regards to my cpap during the test. Simply put, my presciption was cpap 7, 8 years ago. I haven't had it at that pressure for many years, it would be totally inadequate, as shown in the pictures in this thread. So, now I use apap 12-15. During the test, do I use...

Re: dent in scalp from headgear

I use the Amara View and the pressure of the headgear on the top of my head is uncomfortable. I've created padding for everywhere else on the headgear. Has anyone tried using a pad made for the strap of a camera bag, etc.? something with padding or gel foam? No one sees the dent but it get a slight...

Re: Dreamstation filters reusability?

I never washed the ultrafine filter. I usually tossed them when they got dirty, maybe every 2 months. Depends on where you live. Yeah, I wasn't talking about reusing the ultrafines, but just the pollen filters that are supposed to be reusable. Is there an upper limit to their reusability? Like for ...

Re: Dreamstation filters reusability?

So the Philips Dreamstation machines have two air filters, the coarse pollen filters, and the so-called Ultra-fine filters. The pollen filters are supposed to be reusable, while the ultra-fines are supposed to be disposed of after one use. The question is, how often do people reuse the pollen filte...

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?

The vaccine is SOOO liberating. Gramps and I went to a party this past weekend. About 30 people - everyone was vaxxed, even the ones in their twenties. Great times again. Went to lunch yesterday with nine girls - all vaxxed. We sat crammed together at one table for two hours and had a great time. I...

Re: Use of CPAP in emergency for covid treatment when oxygen is not available

I have a family friend traveling to India that is using an Autoset 10 for her. I recall that at least with this machine since it's the same I have, that you can add oxygen to it. Although cpap machines aren't meant to be used as oxygen concentrators, you can add oxygen to it. And I read this articl...

Do you know how this Wellu ring compares to the Contec CMS50D+ Pulse Oximeter & other Contec Pulse Oximeters ?

I use a CMS50F. I would think the CMS60D would be hard to keep on your finger if you move around in the night.
No experience with a Wellu

Re: CPAP for someone in need

Hello, I have a ResMed S9 with the H5i humidifier my dad used to use that he no longer needs (upgraded to a new CPAP). I am interested in giving this to someone in need. I'd like you to pay shipping unless you really can't pay that also. We don't have anything but the machine and power cord, as wel...

Re: Breathless!

I've been using CPAP for about 30 years. I'm now 74 years old, and unfortunately about as out of shape as you can get. If I walk a hundred feet or so, I have to stop and rest until my heavy breathing calms down. Then I can tackle the next hundred feet. This is affecting my tennis, hockey, football,...

Re: Sleep Oxymeter Test

I've been using a CPAP for 10 years, and my last sleep study was 6 years ago (set the machine at 18 cmH2O). I've recently lost a BUNCH of weight (on purpose) and feel like the underlying problem was directly tied to my weight and that it may be gone now. I talked to my Dr. about it and we decided t...
