Re: what does this mean?
I sometimes will see short bursts like this one which might be true PB I'm a newbie to this, but that also is like clockwork, right down to the number of cycles within the evenly spaced cycles. Great (for us) examples, thank you! I have my "puppy sized" chain of ill formed hypopneas quite often dur...

Re: what does this mean?
yes its a bit scary Whoa... I would agree. You were OA/CA'ing like a metronome, very much on a cycle, judging by the fairly even spacing. It's nice they are paying attention to you. ResScan did show a possible Periodic Breathing graph from S9 Elite as: Did the ResScan software explicitly highlight ...

Re: what does this mean?
Would this be an example of fairly normal periodic breathing that the PR might score that way? I have a ResMed that doesn't seem to score such type of breathing:
Or are these just a chain of ill-formed hypopneas?

Re: Post Traumatic Stress from Apnea
How long did it take from the time of getting the proper treatment to feel healed? For me, this is a multi-dimensional healing. Some aspects were immediate, like a bit more spring in my step, thinking faster, easier breathing (my lung capacity seems 3x more now). Some aspects were unaffected for me...

Re: Post Traumatic Stress from Apnea
It's very interesting to learn how this affects people in different ways. Thank you! For me, my "clock" wound down and down and down as caffeine and nicotine went up and up to compensate until I crashed. One seems to need to hit a low point to get the determination to climb out of the pit. I did hav...

Re: Post Traumatic Stress from Apnea
I had a near death experience ("Significant Arrhythmic Event", aka heart likely went into v-fib) that my neurologist / sleep doctor chalks up to Sleep Apnea. I hope he's right, because I've got treatment. If he's wrong, I could drop dead again any moment because it came on totally unannounced. I wou...

Re: Better AHI but still centrals
BTW I didn't mean to pick on your response. Normally I would agree with what you said. No worries. You are right and I after I thought a bit, I made the additional post that Summer probably should talk to the doctor about the centrals maybe to see if they are real. I had only one central in my slee...

Re: Better AHI but still centrals
Since the proportion of centrals is so high, I would think a doctor consult, and perhaps another study, would be wise to find out if they are in fact centrals, what the cause is and if some other mode of treatment is indicated.

Re: Vision changed drastically after starting C-PAP
I read that xPAP can raise ocular pressure, which could change the geometry of your eyes, therefore the ability to focus and I suppose worsen glaucoma (higher ocular pressure is loosely correlated to glaucoma, probably makes it worse). I'm a glaucoma suspect (before APAP) and thus I too should go se...

Re: Better AHI but still centrals
Your machine looks to be bouncing up against the set upper pressure limit (9.5) a majority of the time, suggesting it would like to raise pressure higher to resolve issues, but cannot. I prefer to have my machine freely operating between limits, never hitting them during the night. In a recent chart...

Re: Ripping mask off after severals OSAs
It is for me. If you look at my "Is This REM" thread... http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t72661/Is-this-REM-sleep.html ... you will see a few hours into sleep I have a 2nd REM-looking "thing" with a lot of events and my machine boosts pressure and if you combine [Wild Vitals] + [Events] + [High Pre...

Re: Is this REM sleep?
For those interested, that 2nd "REM" indication I put up there almost always occurs about 3:00-4:00 AM, I get a lot of events like it shows, the pressure goes up and I have "issues"... almost every single night. If I can get past that period, I've got a good steady, solid night's rest 9 out of 10 ti...

Re: Is this REM sleep?
Max, that is very similar to the way mine looks. I also have increased flow limitations during those periods, and pressure increases if I am using auto. During my PSG all of my events were during REM. When I got my Zeo it confirmed it. The only time my Zeo seems inconsistant is when I first put it ...
