Re: Winding down

Thank you all for your responses. I'm glad now that I posted it. Support and understanding from you all is all I get. Even with three family members with apnea.... they are not supportive. They are nose breathers and can use those easy masks so have no problems and just don't understand. 49er, I'll ...

Winding down

I have been at this CPAP thing for nearly four years now and it just doesn't work for me. I just don't know what to do next. I have seen three different sleep doctors, two cardiologists, two ear-nose-and throat doctors and four pulmonologists. They have done test after test after test. I have gone ba...

Re: claustrophobia

".... to get used to the mask and the feeling of air flowing...." I have a question about this comment. I don't feel any air flowing. Maybe this is why I haven't been able to adapt to CPAP in the 4 years I have been trying. Is something malfunctioning? I feel a little bit of air if I put my hand at ...

Connecting the hose on RESMED

How do you connect the hose on the RESMED 9 if you are not using the humidifier? There is nothing for it to click to.

Software for Resmed S9

A few years ago someone here gave me a link to the software for my machine. I have since changed computers and needs to re-install it, but can't find the link. Can someone help me with this?

Thanks.

Re: Scary Stupid People

Interesting comments about the fans. Are you talking about floor or table fans that blow from the side or ceiling fans? After 2.5 years of CPAP that doesn't work, I'm willing to try anything.

Can I buy a mask online?

Mine is worn out and I don't want to deal with the DMEs any longer. Any suggestions for where to buy one online?

Re: 2.5 months - No success

Your story is the same as mine - only it has been 2.5 YEARS. Four doctors, two sleep studies, numerous masks, numerous settings. Nothing works. I still keep putting it on every night, though. At least people won't be able to say I didn't try.

Re: Sick of the Machine - Need a Cause, Need a Cure

The cure, for probably 99% of us (including me) is to LOSE WEIGHT!!! I have had this for two years. I just get worse and worse and worse. I cannot tolerate the mask but I put it on every single night and every single morning I wake up and it is off and I am gasping for breath, having chest pains, an...

Re: Can I get by without a humidifier?

Thanks, everybody. I'm going to try it without it this week and see what happens. I am a mouth breather, but even with the humidifier I wake up (for lack of a better term since I never really sleep) with an extremely dry mouth. But, that as only been recently.

Can I get by without a humidifier?

I have two machines - a CPAP and a BIPAP - that's a long story. But, I am going to have the BIPAP programmed to use as a CPAP for when I travel which is a lot. I'm tired of having unplug and pack everything up. Both machines are RESMED S9.

What exactly does the humidifier do?
