Re: RemStar 560p APAP vs BiPAP

The ST machine has been recalled, and in any case, an ST machine is a very different beast from your PAP machine. (I'm not sure, but I think your current machine has been recalled too, if it's a REMstar machine.) https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/respiratory-devices/recalled-philips-ventilators-bi...

To follow up on ozij's post, it would be helpful in particular to know the central apnea index from your original sleep study.
By "original" do you mean a sleep study other than the titration study?
Yes. Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Apnea Events Still High After Titration Study Help Needed Lowering Events

Thanks for posting the titration-study report and the Oscar charts. In your original sleep study, what was the break-down of your AHI (obstructive apnea, central apnea, hypopnea)?

Re: Elevated AHI reading while trying to fall asleep

What Zonker said. Asleep breathing is much more regular than awake breathing. We often pause our breathing when we're awake; any pause of 10 seconds or more will be identified by the machine as a central apnea.

Excellent result! I agree with Okie B. -- just getting under 5 isn't good enough. But under 1 is terrific!

Re: getting healthy

Welcome! A couple of thoughts about your question. You're going to want to treat your sleep apnea even if it has no effect at all on your mental state. Chronic apnea can increase your risks of several serious physical diseases. Many people without your diagnoses find that once their apnea is well tr...
