Re: Presidential Hosehead?
Likely he is on CPAP and the WH would be correct, but there were a few suggestions in an online news public comments that he may have been on oxygen just prior to coming out to speak due to the strap marks on the side of his face which usually might go away on most people within an hour removing a C...

Re: Rant: why is it so hard just to get a heated hose?
I believe the 'business account and be a healthcare provider' requirement on the Amazon site is that of the current seller and not specific to Amazon. I looked at a Resmed branded hose for the AS10 on Amazon and it seemed to have no similar requirement. Has the hose actually failed and in need of re...

Re: Philips Dreamstation 2 am I crazy?
I presently have a DreamStation 2 (over a year and a half now) and I also had the DreamStation 1. The only times I've experienced a hot plasticy odor is when the water tank ran dry. It did not have a burning sensation, just an annoying odor. This has occurred in both these machines occasionally and ...

Re: myair app hasnt received data from machine airsense 11
This has happened a few times with the Philips DreamMapper app that data may not be showing for several days to a week. The explanation I got from their tech support is that they may be doing updates to the database or upgrades to the host system. All the data does show up eventually. Probably somet...

Re: Laser treatment
I believe this is the procedure a friend of my wife had I think a couple years ago. Most recently she was waiting for delivery of her CPAP from a DME following her sleep study. Don't know anything more than this.

Re: Letter from Lincare Regarding Compliance
How about supplies that a DME provides for a CPAP that they submit a bill to Medicare/Insurance? Does the DME need to verify usage/compliance for them to submit a bill for payment? I've kinda wondered about this as I sometimes switch off my primary CPAP for a length of time to an alternate one the D...

Re: ResMed For Sale
Or keep them both (unless you really need the cash) and have one as a backup if your primary one decides to take an extended timeout and needs a repair. It's also handy to have the extra one for travel so you don't need to disassemble and pack up the primary one to head out on a trip.

Re: New to Dreamstation - changes in settings
Here are a couple explanations of C-Flex and A-Flex https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php/C-Flex https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php?title=A-Flex As suggested give each a try and see which works better for you. I could be incorrect, but I had thought C-Flex was intended more for a fixed pr...

Re: Philips Dreamstation turn off ramp
When I had the DreamStation 1 the ramp was disabled when the setting was set to '0.00'. At 0.00 no time is spent in ramp and the minimum set pressure is immediate.

Re: Philips Replacement, No Modem
If you do put the settings on yourself, pay attention to the functionality of the machine. On the 'other' apnea board there was post that the poster had received a refurbished Philips Respironics Auto BiPAP which included the modem, but not installed. After using the machine several nights (without ...

Re: Question about my humidifier Air Sense 11. Rusty?
Simple baking soda makes for an excellent cleaning agent and is sufficiently abrasive to remove most crap. Must be safe, I brush my teeth with it occasionally.

Re: Question about my humidifier Air Sense 11. Rusty?
The marks are on the bottom of the water tank and would seem to look like scuffs/scrapes from some kind of abrasion as it slides back and forth from insertion and removal onto the heating element in the AS11. Does the heating element in the AS11 appear to have similar markings? Perhaps something got...

Re: Most accurate recording SpO2 sensor?
I have the O2Ring and have compared it to a couple finger tip oximeters I have and it is usually fairly close. I do find that over the course of wearing it at night, it occasionally gives some questionable readings, such as fast spikes of O2 sat drops. I'm not sure if the drops are real, as they mos...

Re: Philips Replacement
A couple of thoughts........ I am assuming the old machine and the new machine are DreamStation 1's since you had thought about trying to use the SD card to install the settings(?) If the old machine has a modem and the new one doesn't, take the modem out of the old machine and put it in the new mac...
