Re: Orange marking on resmed airsense 10 tube outlet
Use of ozone will void resmed warranty. Ask them about their procedures. Or better yet, get a brand new machine that did not need to be "sanitized."

FWIW, I have heard good things about Hart Medical, though haven't used them.

Re: New to CPAP World
Following up on what jdm5 has said, cpap.com has a listing of which masks are most popular. This doesn't mean the most popular is the best for you, as masks are so highly subjective, but you may be able to tilt the odds in your favor by trying a mask that works for most people. I have had best resul...

20 days may not be long enough to draw many conclusions. We don't know what kind of machine you have. That said, I understand that ResMed machines have a propensity to report CSR when the events are not truly CSR. Hopefully a heavyweight expert will come along soon to provide a more detailed respons...

Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice
Mouth taping has helped me a LOT. I have tried several different tapes, some of which involve considerable pain on removal and likely peel off a layer of my 77 year old skin. For me, silicone tape works better than paper tape. More flexible, doesn't feel as confining, no adhesive left on skin in the...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the machine reports AVERAGE for 3 or 6 months, not day by day.

Re: Newbie and confused
I notice you have some Central Apneas in your record. These MAY be (not certainly but may be) "treatment emergent" central apneas. When a person is first on CPAP, they breathe more efficiently and exhale more carbon dioxide, thus causing a person not to need to inhale as frequently. Not inhaling for...

@OP - You are entitled by law to obtain a copy of your medical records because they are YOURS. Refer your DME to the HIPPA law, specifically 45 USC 164.524. For homework, read the following pages: Cornell Law School https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/45/164.524 Also Lazarus included a URL above. B...

Re: Is it so unusual to use a full-face mask? My doctor says so...
When I started, my medical provider said the #1 priority was to use the machine for a full night regularly -- and only then would we focus on mask type, pressures, humidity, etc. Push through it. There are users here who report that they are much more comfortable with FFM than nasal. Forget what pop...

Re: Constant increasing leakage
@OP - I don't think you told us which machine you have. If it is a ResMed, the manufacturer says the machine can compensate for leaks up to 24lpm and still provide adequate therapy. Pugsy believes ResMed is conservative and she would probably lean more toward 30. I notice that if my mask is old, it ...

Re: differences between men’s health and women’s health
Interesting parallel with heart disease. Back in the day (say the 1970's), heart disease was generally perceived as predominantly a man's disease. Treatment and surgical protocols were initially geared toward male symptoms. As time went along, it was discovered that women present with different symp...

Agree with Lazarus' comment above. I have read an article in the website of the National Institute of Health (here in the US) that reached similar conclusions. My mouth tends to fall open when I become completely relaxed while sleeping. My provider insisted that I would need FFM. I have decided that...

Re: Keep waking up due to massive pressure up my nose
@OP - May I offer another strategy? I am a STRONG believer in our power to program our minds into thinking and accepting what we want. So I developed a mantra - you can even write it down. Repeat it to yourself time and again and again, at any time of day and when preparing for sleep. It may sound s...

Re: Digital medical records
For what it's worth, I am able to go on my provider's (Kaiser) website and access any records I want including sleep study, download on the spot, and print out if desired. This capability has existed for several years. Provider also has an abbreviated medical summary that can be downloaded if desire...

Re: New Mask
Profile indicate user has been on PAP therapy almost two years, so this is presumably not the first mask. @OP - have you considered a pillow mask? Smaller area to seal (the nostrils only) so fewer mask leaks. Even if you are not a mouth breather during the day, it is possible that your mouth opens d...
