Re: 8 months in and NOTHING

What are the installation errors you get with encore pro? I know with directview you have to enable old version of Microsoft .NET under optional features in the add/remove programs control panel on Windows 7/8/10. On EP2.0 I convinced it to get past the SQL error with Compatibility Mode, but that v...

Re: New Pressure new problems

Chart and SpO2 graph looking pretty good. What level of humidity are you using? I think everyone is different, but somehow for me, less is better. If I turn the humidity down to setting "1," I get less leaks and dry mouth. If it were me, I would think in the future about adjusting your pressure just...

Are you going to do a recording at home on a full night at 10cm h2o?

Re: Fraudulent sleep study?

I would buy a second cheapo pulse oximeter and compared and contrast. If you're awake SpO2, breathing room air, is still hovering around 88%, then you have a health problem that needs addressing by a physician.

Re: First night with a CPAP....ugh

Glad the full face mask is working. For whatever reason, when I was using nasal pillows, by turning down the humidity on my machine to setting 1 I was able to reduce my leaks by a lot--I guess easing the congestion in my nasal passages, so that I didn't have to breathe through my mouth.

Re: Will Cpap help me?

Were you diagnosed with an obstructive lung disease, such as COPD? There are exhalation relief settings on CPAP but you may want to ask your doctor about bi-level as well. Were you diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea?

Re: Purchase Bilevel AirCurve 10S or AirCurve 10 AUTO?

the vauto can do everything the 10s can do, and more, so it only makes sense to get the vauto if the price is the same.

Re: Newbie -- advice re: O2 levels

Are you able to import your oximeter data into SleepyHead? It would be helpful to see if the desaturations you are experiencing occur around the same time that scored events are occurring. I tried using the oximeter (from the respiratory therapist), but I have a really hard time falling asleep and ...

Re: CPAP is causing Hyperventilation.

Do you have the correct mask type setting selected (nasal, pillows, full face, etc)? Also, is the AB (anti bacterial) filter setting turned OFF?

Also, I agree that you should experiment with bumping up the min pressure to help keep your airway open, and ma...

Re: Recently switched to full face mask - question

When you lay down, do you have a good mask seal? Check to see if you can feel air leaking out of the side of the mask and near your eyes as well. I'm not familiar with your machine, but you should be able to view the leak rate as well. It sounds like if you're getting sore/redness/skin irritation, i...

Re: How long does a mask last?

There is no set answer but I will just tell you my experience, which is largely with the F&P Simplus FFM. The plastic frame has never needed replacement. I order two new cushions every 6 months from Amazon. I have 2 complete mask sets; one just sits in my travel bag with my travel/backup machine. I ...

Re: Help for Bipap newbie

Bear with me as I did scan all the posts in this thread, but may have missed something. Have you attempted to use static IPAP/EPAP pressures? I've found it helpful to find the exact IPAP and EPAP required to prevent the majority of events. Then set the machine back to auto mode, with the min and max...

Re: Why am I so freaking tired?

I would ask your doctor if you can get a new machine that is data capable. Optimal CPAP therapy may not be the answer to solving all of your issues, but it's a start and something that we can help you with. If you hit a snag in the road, you can always buy a used machine online.
