Please upload the logs as I described earlier. That should tell me whether the failure to upload is because the machine didn't write the data yet or whether it is a problem in OSCAR.
I think I've just managed to create that file. Will put it in your drop box now.

Re: Possible Oscar Technical Issue

The problem is back again. Failed to upload last night's data. It might or might not catch up with the backlog tomorrow. I tried deleting all the data on the card again, but it still didn't work. If it doesn't, I guess I'm done here, unless one of the technical people here fixes it (I've sent a pm).

Re: Technical Question about CA's

We can, and do, have arousals that we don't remember. Just because we don't remember it happening doesn't mean it didn't happen. Your reports do seem to show a lot of "clutter" which on the face of it might point to a need for more baseline/minimum pressure but you also report evidence of a lot of ...

Re: Technical Question about CA's

You've zoomed in a little too close on those CAs. The one timed at 01:07...that's a false positive. Can't really see enough of the other one to say for sure. As for how does the Devilbiss decide?? Beats me but it has the same limitation as all other machines...it doesn't know if you are asleep or n...

Re: Technical Question about CA's

Screen shots of two flagged CA's, which. as far as I can tell, are just as likely to be OA's. From what I've read APAP machines are not really great at differentiating between OA's and CA's anyway, and the Devilbiss/Intellipap is probably the weakest of them (no pressure pulse or anything like that ...

Re: Technical Question about CA's

Here are some screen shots from the night I had thirteen flagged CA's. One of the two OA's was false - it was when I woke up and removed the mask briefly for a sip of water. But As far as I can see, at least 8-9 of the CA's are real events. My question was really about doubting the ability of my Dev...

Show an Oscar report here.
I'll take some screenshots for that night, Julie, and post them here.

Technical Question about CA's

I've been using a Devilbiss/Intellipap 2 machine for about 12 weeks now. I've noticed (via Oscar) that I get very little OA's (usually none or maybe one nightly). So mostly hypopneas, but some (average about 5) CA's too. I understand that some machines differentiate between CA's and OA's by giving a...

Re: Possible Oscar Technical Issue

Thanks everyone, but the problem seems to be resolved. Just downloaded last night and the previous night's data too without any problems. I think someone told me on another thread "false flags" that he/she going to tweak the software a little to see if the flagged events from the Devilbiss machine w...

Possible Oscar Technical Issue

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with Oscar today? I've been using it to get data from my Devilbiss/Intellipap 2 machine without any difficulties since 8 October, but I can't get it to read any data from the SD card for last night. The "Quick View" menu is showing the data (albeit ve...

Re: False Flag Events

It can't hurt to get an oximeter if you can afford one. I'd recommend getting one that's compatible with Oscar: OSCAR is currently compatible with Contec CMS50D+, CMS50E, CMS50F and CMS50I serial oximeters. (Note: Direct importing from bluetooth models is probably not possible yet) You may wish to ...

Re: False Flag Events

All CPAP machines have some degree of false flagging. The machine only knows about flow and pressure, but not why the flow is irregular. For example, if you hold your breath for 10 seconds (as you might do when turning over), the machine only knows you aren't breathing so might flag that as an apne...

Re: False Flag Events

I suspect the pins don't drop exactly in the place where you might expect to see them. Re the OA: it looks like you held your breath just before you took off your mask. Was the breath-holding 10 seconds long? If so, that might be what triggered the flag. Re the H: this looks like an hypopnea -- the...

False Flag Events

I've been using a Devilbiss/Intellipap APAP machine for ten weeks now and have found this forum very helpful, not least because of the many links here to information sources on how to interpret sleep data from Oscar. I'm fairly certain that about 50% of the flagged OA/H events on my charts are false...

Re: Earplugs

I use earplugs too, and I also have the same type of machine. It's not a loud machine but I got the feeling the noise of the air from the mask was interfering with my sleep so I used wax-based earplugs and have gotten better sleep. I also need the machine close to my head because I sleep on the flo...
