Re: Cease CPAP Use Two Weeks before Sleep Study?
Apples and oranges and common sense . . . Apple: Someone with long-standing life-threatening severe OSA who has zero reason to believe it is now suddenly miraculously gone. Orange: Someone barely and briefly near the 5 AHI line who now has significantly changed circumstances that a sleep doc conside...

Or at least require intensive care.
I'll pay more attention to the comma (glad it wasn't a colon) next time. Thanks for granny-grammar-splainin'.

I still wouldn't "ignore." A little attention might still be due in order to make sure utensils and table coverings and wait staff remain unharmed for the duration.

Re: Events=AHI?
"Events" is perfectly acceptable scientific and medical terminology. Especially in the context of RDI. It's accuracy is in its broadness. And the effectiveness of PAP as a simple mechanical fix for stabilizing the human airway during sleep IS truly amazing. Most medical issues are not nearly as stra...

Re: Daylight time--may become permanent
If science fiction has taught us nothing else, it is that attempting group-time-travel always creates risks for messing up present realities, even if it's only done for an hour twice a year.

Re: Any reason I might want to upgrade to Autoset 11?
I hope not! I take particular pride in never quite fitting in wherever I go.
I was here previously, but wanted to start over fresh. This is, after all, the best PAP forum.
Oh but that all aspects of nonvirtual life worked that way too!

I don't want to hijack this thread, If anyone's thread deserves hijack, it's mine! Great question. I don't know the answer. But I believe the message may be put there to be used as an argument, or "proof," provided by the patient that insurance should pony up for a new machine if that's what ...

Re: vauto basics
The sleep techs, through no fault of their own, are sometimes overly influenced by seeing the reactions to PAP from first-night users, and they naturally form their opinions accordingly. They don't see the centrals go away over the next few days. EPR and auto CAN confuse the tech's job of first-nigh...

. . . wish he was a little more flexible and not so rigid with his opinions (like offer both sides) . . . I think you set a particularly good example of not falling into that trap, if you don't mind my saying so. And, no, I didn't say that just to further derail Zonker's thread. (I'm sure I'll be a...

Re: Replacement schedules/quanities for CPAP supplies with New York State medicaid?
It isn't even always standardized among the various Medicaid-plan providers within each state.
But the day they get, say, Georgia, on the same page as, say, Massachusetts, with how Medicaid plans work is the day that lasting peace in the Middle East starts to look easy.
