Re: Bed Shopping Recommendations?
....A memory foam topper on a very firm mattress is probably going to suit me better. Glad you chimed in on this, RG. I've been thinking about the same idea. And Wow--you're a feather-weight!!--making it even more difficult to imagine how TempurPedic can continue to be produced & sold with such a h...

Re: Using differnt masks from time to time
A very good strategy. You are much less likely to suffer trauma WHEN a manufacturer discontinues a really good mask--your favorite. As a female, I have had this experience with bras several times. It appears to be S.O.P. I'm laughing because I have tormented over losing access to favorite bras...ma...

Re: Bed Shopping Recommendations?
We bought a Select Comfort and also hated it. I bet there isn't more than $100 worth the parts in that bed. ....Let's face it - it's just an adjustable air mattress with some cheap foam on the sides and a fancy cover over it. I was a tent camper for about 30 of my adult years, and have respected Co...

Re: Bed Shopping Recommendations?
Rocketgal, I so appreciate the time and detail you put into your reply. Thanks! I think you have swayed me completely away from the memory foam alternatives. I just cannot afford a couple of thousand dollars every year or two for another bed! Not even close! Remember when beds used to actually last ...

Re: Bed Shopping Recommendations?
....Wondering why each of you decided to pay the unbelievable cost for a Sleep Number bed? Is there really any difference from a $50 Coleman double bed air mattress? (No I’m not kidding. I just don’t get the hocus-pocus of adjustments possible with this very expensive air mattress unless you need 2...

.....most cost 1500.00 that I liked but just couldn't afford so I went by the reviews of the "Sleep Innovations 10-inch Sure Temp Memory Foam Mattress" from Amazon.... ...but if I had to do it again I would get the 12" and use a base instead of box springs since they are not needed, I used my old b...

Re: Bed Shopping Recommendations?
Is there really any difference from a $50 Coleman double bed air mattress? I have used a Coleman air bed camping. There is no comparison. There is much more to an air bed than an air bladder. What is the "much more," Pugsy? Can you describe specifically how is it different? I truly do not need you ...

Re: Bed Shopping Recommendations?
Ameriken, Don't Tempurpedics tend to be hot in summer? And I've wondered if they hold your "indent" so that changing positions might be difficult to do comfortably through the night...?

Bed Shopping Recommendations?
I've gotta have a new mattress, and soon. Beauty Rest used to be a great brand for individual springs which adjusted to give your spine an appropriate amount of support, regardless of sleeping position. Not mine! I'd love to hear especially from those of us who have been forced to become exclusively...

Re: I don't think my nose is supposed to feel like burning
If your experience is at all like mine, I'm going to bet that the inside of your sensitive nose will toughen up within a month or two. I used Ayre Gel with moderate humidification in the beginning, and shortly thereafter found that I needed neither (I use just passive, or "passover" humidification)....

Re: Permanent Mask Marks
Plr, Thanks for the suggestions. Seriously, a 40 % increase in pressure over what you have, does not permit the luxury of what you describe as far as sealing the mask. In that case, why not try these aids? Some people here swear by them. http://www.padacheek.com/PAC_Maskliners.html http://www.remzz...

Re: Permanent Mask Marks
Charlestek, just a couple of suggestions. My pressure (12) is not as high as yours, but it did take me several months to get a FFM to properly seal using moderate rather than tight straps. As others have mentioned, I too found that ironically, tighter straps create bigger leak problems. The mask sho...

Re: Using CPAP At An Altitude of 12,500'
I used my M Series at 13,500 feet without any problem that I'm aware of. Thanks for your input, greyhound. For how long did you use it at this altitude? I take it you didn't check your data, but just describe how you felt? I was at that altitude for 3 days (almost two weeks at altitudes between 8,0...
