Current list of fully data capable straight CPAP machines?

Apologies, as I haven't been here for a long time. My trusty PB420E just died, and I am sadly needing to update myself with what's available, as in my subject line. Being a faithful cpap.com customer, I was surprised that there does not seem to be a filter for finding the data capable machines. Can ...

Re: travel bags

I would carry them in separate carry on bags since the cpap machine is considered medical equipment. The only things that should be in the cpap carry on bag are cpap and related parts. I have not always found that airlines honor the medical equipment guideline. Hmm. I think it would be more helpful...

We seem to be repeating ourselves, so I guess you get the idea!

Re: do you use a "travel" machine or your usual one

I am one who swears by having a travel (& back-up) machine, for several reasons: 1) I want a smaller, lighter weight cpap to carry when traveling. 2) I do not want to have to bother taking down my home machine, packing it up, worry about whether I've included everything I'll need---and then having t...

Re: CPAP.com and CPAPtalk.com SOPA Protests Tomorrow

Aachh!--I haven't been here for a couple of days, and absent-mindedly clicked on the splash page just now, thinking I'd find a thread just like this one, to explain what we can do.....and thus missing any mentioned link to the petition. When I re-opened the website here, the dark page did not appear...

Re: traveling with cpap

I'm not clear about whether you're backpacking/camping and will be hauling your machine along on your hikes. But in any case, I'd strongly recommend that you try using your machine at home without its humidifier for the same length of time you'll be in Costa Rica. You could definitely try saline spr...

Re: western NC Cpap repair

Liam, I have an Everest 2 and 2 battery packs as well. Love this machine for travel & backup for power outage. If I needed it to be repaired, I'd be willing to ship it anywhere for qualified work. I'd also suggest calling the owner of the company. I was able to reach him a few months ago on two sepa...

Re: Pillow Recommendations

I agree with NSB above. PapPillow is IMO worth every penny for side sleeping. I've loved mine for 3 years, and bet it will not need to be replaced for another 3 years. Exceptional quality of construction and durable, lasting firmness for great support, meaning decreased neck problems. The shape is g...

Re: Backup Equipment Necessary?

Probably redundant at this point, but I made it a priority early in my treatment to systematically purchase backups of everything--and all out of pocket, since my insurance deductible has been $1500-2000 every year, and I never have any other medical expenses. It's been well worth it to me for the p...

Re: Selling a Used CPAP Machine , Advice

After seeing the pathetically low price offered to me by SecondWind, I'm opting to try selling on Craigs List for awhile first.

Double Edge PaPillow on sale at cpap.com--Today Only

Not sure if this is an appropriate post, and hope I haven't just missed seeing that someone else may have mentioned it here! Usual disclaimers--no affiliation with cpap.com. This pillow is my absolute favorite for all types of masks I ever tried (except whole face masks, which I've not experienced)....

Re: Check out what I received in exchange for a new pillow!!!

I find it admirable that you decided to explain here publicly, YB. I wonder if being kept in a wooden drawer could be causing the deterioration of the silicone....just a thought. I have a number of "tried-n-failed" masks in a plastic sealed tub in a closet, and none of them appear to be discolored o...

Re: Bed Shopping Recommendations?

Interesting reading. I'm surprised that no-one has come to the defence of Beautyrest pocket coil beds. I'm on my second one, and it's now over 20 years old. I love it. The mattress does not sag. It's supportive all around. I flip the mattress about once a year. My expectation is that it's good for ...

Re: Bed Shopping Recommendations?

Thanks, SleepyT--I see that the nearest Original Mattress Factory outlet is 2 hours away from me, but it sounds like I need to check it out. Do people really flip their mattresses every 6 weeks?? I thought I was doing well to remember to do so once every year or two!

Re: Bed Shopping Recommendations?

One thing I'll say as a plus about Tempur Pedic ... during the first two years of my father being bedridden after a massive stroke, he kept developing bed sores on one hip, then the other, despite being kept at home with caregivers around the clock, turning him often and religiously. His bed had a ...
