Re: making adjustments

Are the leaks interfering with my therapy? My machine always says, "Your mask fit was great last night." So maybe it thinks a few leaks are normal? ResMed machines will show Mr Smiley for leak management until time in large leak territory amounts to 30% or more of the night. So yes...the machine th...

Re: making adjustments

Are the leaks enough to be concerned about? You said they are. ----------------> I had a lot of trouble last night with the mask leaking. I took it and my chin strap off and put them back on a couple of times in the night in sort of a brain fog. Judge your sleep in the late evening. Were you energe...

Re: making adjustments

Are the leaks enough to be concerned about? I have tried the size small mask. It looks to fit better but it feels tight on the right side of my face where my pinched nerve is.

Re: making adjustments

The graphs are fine. First priority is getting control of the leaks. Have you studied some YouTube videos about fitting and adjusting your mask model? Yes. I didn't find anything particularly helpful except the suggestion I may have the wrong size. I'm using the medium. I find the small a little to...

Re: making adjustments

Here is an attempt at posting my OSCAR data. I had a lot of trouble last night with the mask leaking. I took it and my chin strap off and put them back on a couple of times in the night in sort of a brain fog. https://jgardnerscollection.weebly.com/storage.html Here's the night before. https://jgard...

Re: making adjustments

Even if every single flagged event composing that AHI of 4 was a real asleep central (which I am fairly sure they aren't) it still isn't enough to get a doctor to worry about. They won't even bat an eyelash until the central index goes over 5 and consistently over 5. Ignore them for now (or at leas...

Re: making adjustments

Does anybody really know why a person would have no centrals in a sleep study and then have primarily centrals while on CPAP? You are still having a lot of wake ups fiddling with stuff???????? I go to bed listening to an audiobook to make my brain happy (or it gets mad about the stuff on my face). ...

Re: making adjustments

Hold your breath for 15 seconds. That's essentially what a central apnea of 15 second duration is. The airway is open but no air is moving because there is no effort to breathe. That's a central apnea. We pause our breathing all the time while awake and don't realize it. The machine can and will fl...

I wouldn't. There are times you may need a pressure higher than a 10.... so it's there is you need it. Are you comfortable with the 4?

Sheriff
The 4 feels like nothing.

Re: making adjustments

What's your AHI? How well do you think you are sleeping? Are you using OSCAR or SleepHQ? I have OSCAR, but I don't really understand it. The machine says my AHI is 4, but they are mostly centrals. I talked to someone at Apria today and now am totally confused about what centrals are. I'm sleeping O...

making adjustments

So, I've been using my machine for a few weeks and I tend to end up with a pressure of 10. My prescription is 4-14. Should I start to narrow those number, such as raise my low number to 5 then 6 then 7, etc.? Also, I am using auto ramp. Should I raise the start pressure for that, too?

worsening rainout

I had achieved low-to-no rainout at humidity level 4 but felt like I needed a little more humidity, so I upped it from 4 to 5. That caused some rainout. Next night I upped the hose temp. from 74 to 76. Still rainout. Next night I upped the hose temp to 78. Rainout even worse. Pool of water in my pil...

Re: heated hose questions

No, it's not going to feel noticeably warm. Remember your body temp is 98.6 or so and anything less than that isn't going to feel all that warm.. Putting a hose cozy on a heated hose is a bit redundant but it can be done. It won't make the hose air temp, that you have set, any different but it migh...

heated hose questions

I have an airsense 11 with a heated hose. When it is set to 76, should it feel warm to the touch? (Mine does not.)The room temp is 70 degrees. Also, will covering a heated hose help with rainout or is that redundant?

Re: new centrals

Is there anyway to tell if they are real? In Oscar or SleepHQ, look closely at the breathing waveform immediately prior to the apnea. If there is a big spike of inhalation or a few seconds of very erratic breathing, then it's likely a false alarm. Thanks. I'm going to try to figure out how to post ...
