Ideal CPAP equipment, designed for end-users, for XMas
For Christmas, I would like CPAP manufacturers to design equipment solely for an end-user, and not a DME tech. The following is what I’d like to see in such equipment: 1. A backlightable LED display that can be read in dim light. 2. An LED display that shows daily and average AHI and leak data over ...

It would help to know exactly what kind of machine you're using. An auto cpap can help reduce aerophagia. You set the maximum pressure of the auto cpap to your titrated pressure, and the minimum pressure a few cm below that. Monitoring your AHI with software can help you find the safest minimum pres...

How effective is Aussie heated hose with CL2 mask?
The CL2 mask has about 9 inches of tubing and connectors between the main hose and the interface. So if I buy the Aussie heated hose, there will still be 9 inches of unheated conduit that the air will have to pass through. Will rainout occur in the CL2 mask, even with an Aussie heated hose? Has anyo...

For me, the best interface I've found is the Direct Seal, size 5, and I am a side-sleeper. The trick is finding the correct size. My DME never measured me for it, but I got lucky with the sizes they mailed to me (a 5 and a 6, but 6 was too big). I believe there is a gauge that can be purchased, for ...

On my Christmas wish-list, I would like improved equipment from the CPAP makers. Here's my wish-list of improvements: 1. A backlightable LED display that can be read in dim light. 2. An LED display that shows daily and average AHI and leak data over at least a one-month period. Compliance data not n...

Upgrading to XP. Should I uninstall Encore Pro first?
I'll be upgrading from Windows 98 to XP Pro in a few days. But I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to uninstall Encore Pro first, then reinstall it after installing XP. Encore Pro seems like such a touchy program that I'm wondering if an upgrade to a new OS would make it go completely wacky, wi...

After being on CPAP for a week my dreams started getting pretty vivid, and they would last a long time. Now it's been two and a half months, and dreams are still going long and strong. I feel happy about all of this, because most of the dreams are positive experiences. CPAP may sometimes be a real p...

Thanks!
Wow, thanks all the great info on the HC150! From what everyone has said, I think this may be the Cadillac of the humidifiers. Definitely gonna get one now, but first I’ll try to get insurance to pay for it. Lacking that, guess I’ll go out-of-pocket.

My success story, thus far
Catnapper: I’ve been using CPAP for about 6 weeks now, so I’ll tell you how successful it has been for me thus far . . . The first week was definitely a mix of misery and immediate improvement. The misery was due to not sleeping well at all. I think I averaged about 4.5 hours a night. But the improv...

Is HC150 Humidifier compatible with M-Series APAP?
I’m considering buying an HC150 Heated Humidifier as a spare for my M-Series APAP. But the product description at cpap.com says that this humidifier is not compatible with all APAPs. Has anyone had any experience using the HC150 with the M-Series APAP? If so, can you tell me if it worked okay, or di...
