Re: After your initial diagnosis did you get to meet w/a Dr.?

SoCal Guy I dealt with the VA in the SFO bay area. Your post of 1-12-17 asked 3 questions, from my experience this is what happened with me. 1. yes, sort of, very perfunctory, he explained nothing 2. yes, I haven't seen an MD since October. 3. no, the RCP whom I have met once is not too interested in...

Re: newbe question about "flow limit" in sleepyhead

Thanks Jay You stated that setting the min & max settings on my machine will make it work as a straight cpap. I'm not sure that is the way I want to go. I have asthma and I would like to think that using all of the machines capabilities would be in my best interests, if that makes any sense. I feel ...

Re: newbe question about "flow limit" in sleepyhead

o k, Per okydoky I made sure all the event flags at the bottom of the graphs are in the green. I then went into preferences in sleepyhead and made sure that flow limitations was checked in both the "events" and the "overview", it now has 2 check marks, one on the left side where just about everythin...

newbe question about "flow limit" in dreamstation

I have been reading on how to post my sleepyhead results, but there is one thing I'm stuck on before I can continue. The instructions say one chart to include in my post is the "flow limit" I have arranged the first 5 requirements, event flag, flow rate, pressure, leak rate, and snore. My version of...

Re: humidification and asthma

thanks sewsleepy. I think that may have been on my wife's mind when she mentioned it to me. That thought has also crossed my mind, time will tell. I don't want to do that... just yet. Been doing some MORE reading and I think I'm starting to get a better picture of what a-flex and c-flex are, (thanks...

Re: humidification and asthma

nuther question, I went into the settings screen on my device (thanks apnea board) to look at what there was to play around with. My asthma has been acting up lately, because of the weather, or the dogs, or God only knows what. In the settings I saw that I have the option of choosing either c-flex o...

Re: humidification and asthma

Thanks emmagoldman44 for responding. I have to agree with you about "extremes". Your right, I have to remember that something may be good up to a point, but too much of anything can turn out to be bad. I am still very much in the "shake down" phase of this cpap thing. I used to sleep on my side, I m...

Re: humidification and asthma

so much stuff out there for cpap users! SewTired; as for acid reflux been there done that. About ten years ago I was dealing with acid reflux, got something from the doctor, took it for about a year and my symptoms cleared up. I now know what it feels like and what to look for, and what I can and ca...

Re: humidification and asthma

thanks for the feedback. I've already learned something. I work with kids at church on Sundays and as my wife has told me kids are carriers of EVERYTHING. I now get 2-3 cases of bronchitis a year. At my age pneumonia is now a concern for me. From Blackspinners response I see that I will now need re-...

humidification and asthma

I'm new to cpap, oct.2016 and new to this forum. I have read what I could find on humidification and its effects. My impression of its effects on asthma are that it varies from person to person. My guess is that I should be experimenting on increasing/decreasing the setting on my machine to find wha...

Re: Where A CPAP Newbie Should Start

Hi, I'm new to cpap, Nov. 2016. Still learning what its all about and what questions to ask. I fly rc gliders and helicopters and belong to several rc forums. There are many wonderful people out there who put in the extra time and effort to help noobs get started in the hobby. I have found this site...
