Re: Question for those with GK420E

Not sure how your solution is going to dry out the sensor line... I still think that blowing some air through the sensor line is the only way to dry it out.

Re: Question for those with GK420E

For what it is worth Eleena, I've had my 420E for a little over 5 years now and it has been a great machine. Just be careful to NOT jam the thin sensor tube onto the nipple. Just gently push it on and gently pull it off as needed. The clear tube plastic seals easily when it meets the beige plastic n...

Re: Question for those with GK420E

No, don't run out and buy a new hose. Try the following: Make sure that your humidifier tank is ABSOLUTELY dry and don't turn on the heater-element under the humidifier. Attach the WRONG end of the treatment air hose to the humidifier tank. This will necessitate that you have the thin air-pressure s...

S9 Question

The S9 has just arrived in Ontario and I'm debating a purchase. I trialed the Elite II (hope I'm getting the name correct) and found that it made a high-pitched whine when I would start to inhale. The ResMed rep told me that this was motor noise, relative to using EPR at it's most-relief setting. He...

Re: S9 Reviews

Johnbfisher sez: Why worry about a "cleanable" tank. Just use distilled water. That way you can leave the water "as is" in the tank. It won't leave any residue. Nothing will grow in it This is an old canard that has be bounced around many times. While many people just top up their humidifier tank wi...

Re: New ResMed S9

For what it is worth... I think that if you are happy with your AutoSet II and getting good treatment, you've made the right choice. As you have mentioned, the first run of a product line can be glitchy. Why try to fix a situation that isn't broken? The AutoSet II is a good machine. I am using a PB ...

Re: anxiety issues

Unlikely that the Atarax is making you hyperventilate. It could well be drying you out so, you might want to turn up your humidifier a little if you take the Atarax before bed.

Re: Ridiculous International Postage Charges

Last time I ordered from CPAP.COM (with product to be shipped to Canada) I complained about the charges and was told by the CPAP.COM lady that as they had to send a staff person to the Post Office to ship my item, rather than having the item picked up for shipping by UPS, the charges were higher. My...

Headrest Mask Exchange

I have 3 new, still sealed in the package, size large nasal seals for the Headrest mask that I'd like to exchange with someone for size medium. Anyone have unused mediums they would like to exchange?

Merry Christmas everyone!

Re: do you know of any famous/succesful people with osa?

Sure... I know lots of famous/successful folk who use CPAP -->all of the people on this forum who have the resolve to face their fears and overcome the nasty impact of OSA by seeking out and, as best as possible, sticking with treatment.

Re: Endotoxin from Bacteria Migrating from Humidifier to Lungs

The moral? Use distilled water. ... or at the very least, bottled water from a reverse osmosis system. This is an old canard that has been talked about before; lots of strong feeling on both sides of the debate. Not-withstanding, news flash folks: distilled water is NOT sterile. Your humidifier tan...
