Re: New APAP user without sleep study looking for advice
So I've noticed that most of my events occur during what seem like from the flow rate graph to be brief periods of arousals. See the attached image for example. Do such events have a negative effect on your sleep? I had some of these events today during the latter half of my sleep today and my sleep...

Re: sp02 monitoring
Not a fitness watch, but have you heard of the Wellue O2 ring? It uses medical grade oxygen tracking and has good reviews. https://getwellue.com/pages/o2ring-oxygen-monitor I was looking to get a fitness watch for tracking oxygen levels but I read that their oxygen tracking can be inaccurate. If you...

Re: Large vs Standard size headgear for Resmed F20
Thanks for the help everyone! However, I ended up ordering the F30i. With the F20 I was concerned about whether I would still experience air leaking into my eyes, which I cannot tolerate at all. I've experienced this issue with the couple of full face masks I've had up till now. I've read good thing...

Re: Large vs Standard size headgear for Resmed F20
Thank you for the reply. I'm actually ordering the mask assembly kit and the headgear separately, and when you order the headgear separately it asks whether you want a standard size or a large size. Also, I am looking at Resmed F30i too and would prefer to get that if I can get the measurements righ...

Large vs Standard size headgear for Resmed F20
Hi, I was looking to purchase an F20 mask but was confused about which headgear to choose. I had a Quattro Air previously whose headgear was a bit small for me when I tightened the mask so I was thinking of getting a large headgear for the F20. My only concern is that the headgear ends up being too ...

Re: New APAP user without sleep study looking for advice
Oh ok, I see. Thanks very much. So the dealer who I buy my CPAP equipment from has the S9 Auto for a pretty cheap price - just $200. I'll see if he has one with low usage hours. If not then I'll probably order it from secondwindcpap.com. I'm thinking of persuading the dealer to replace my current Dr...

Re: New APAP user without sleep study looking for advice
I wanted to ask, would it be worth buying the S9 Auto instead of the Airsense 10 Auto? I have a relative coming from the US soon and I thought I should order a replacement CPAP. I'm looking to order from secondwindcpap.com but even there the used Autoset 10 is selling for more than $650, while the S...

Re: New APAP user without sleep study looking for advice
Another thing that I have noticed using the CPAP - and I am not sure if others relate - is that now when I wake up I expect a lot of time to have passed since I fell asleep but in reality only a little time actually passes. I think this could be attributed to better quality of sleep. Before starting...

Re: New APAP user without sleep study looking for advice
So I am feeling better on my current pressure settings of 10-14 cm and the feeling of sleep deprivation has reduced. Hypopnea have not been completely eliminated but the ones that do occur are only about a second or two long so I guess nothing to worry about. I did experience some periodic breathing...

Re: New APAP user without sleep study looking for advice
So I was still experiencing a lot of sleep deprivation at my current pressure settings of 6.5-12 and I tried to spot what was off in my data. The only thing that seemed to me that could be causing trouble was the number of hypopneas I was experiencing. Even though my AHI usually hovers around 2 (it'...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
So I've dug out some information about the foam that they use in the machine and its health risks. You have no qualifications to evaluate any of the information you snipped off the internet. Or to unilaterally decide what type of polyurethane and its components are being used. I neither attempted t...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
So I've dug out some information about the foam that they use in the machine and its health risks. Philips says that it is a polyurethane foam. However, researching online, I found that polyurethane can take many forms (https://www.nontoxu.com/plastics-silicone/toxicity-polyurethane). One of these i...
