Since this is a call on DOJ (not congress), it could happen despite congressional disarray.
In any case, I can't see Philips surviving long-term as a supplier of medical devices after this debacle.

Re: Anyone able to sleep on your back with your machine?
I'm not clear why the original poster is using a cervical collar. It's possible that the underlying condition is causing a problem.
Anyhow, you generally will need a higher pressure on your back than on your side. I was titrated on my back, so that's how I sleep.

Try turning on the machine several minutes before you go to bed and put on the mask.

Review of the DreamStation 2 machine
If this was already posted, I apologize. I was not able to find anything on this subject on this forum. I got a DreamStation 2 as a replacement for my DreamStation 1 about two years ago. I never noticed an issue with particles or odors, but I stopped using the machine when I heard of the recall, usi...

Re: Dreamstation 2 cannot keep time?
Ok, you're reporting a discrepancy of one hour or more when you wake up in the morning almost every morning. Have you gone back and checked prior days (to see if the shortfall has been corrected)? If there does appear to be a correction later, there are two possible reasons for this. The first is th...

A CPAP machine will work indoors in a room at temperature above freezing regardless of the outside temperature.

Re: Extension cords
Somebody in this thread eluded to a ban on extension cords. I assume that person was speaking of cruise ships. If you're traveling on an ocean-liner, please advise them that you will be bringing a CPAP machine. They will either assure you that the electric sockets will be near the bed, provide their...

Re: Horrible Chemically Burned Bacon Smell in Nose After Reservoir Ran Dry
The "bacon" smell is probably how you perceive the burning smell. I do get that when the tank runs dry. There was one Chinese-made CPAP where the heating element switches off when the tank goes empty. It will probably be standard for the heating element to stop working when the tank goes dry eventua...

Re: teenager cpap compliance, what type of help do we need??
In addition to all the suggestions about "compliance" (which are good), I suggest you investigate the specific "noise" complaint. Most modern CPAP machines let up a little bit when the patients exhales. Despite being a senior citizen (I wasn't when I started CPAP), I find this annoying and "noisy." ...

Re: How do you calculate CPAP energy costs?
I'm trying to calculate how much of my energy bill is due to my ResMed. It's plugged in all the time. Is there a formula folks use? Compared to your refrigerator, your air-conditioner, your computers, your heating (if it's electric), your stove/oven (if they're electric), your washing machine & dry...

Re: Dream Station 2 - flimsy clips on the tank and tank lid
It seems that nobody is reporting an issue with these clips. They sure look flimsy and everybody panned the machine when it first came out for this reason. It seems that, at least as far as this issue is concerned, the DS2 is OK. It's also now OSCAR compatible, but only thanks to the OSCAR team. How...

Re: Dream Station 2 - flimsy clips on the tank and tank lid
Dream Station----     Just one more reminder to shop wisely. Avoid respironics machines--if possible. I would not have chosen that machine. However, it was sent to me for free as a replacement for my DS1 due to the recall. The DS1 was six years old at the time, and it was ...

Dream Station 2 - flimsy clips on the tank and tank lid
I already posted some time ago about how flimsy the clips on the tank lid appear to be, as well as the point where they attach to the tank.
Now that this machine has been around a while, has anybody had these clips break?
I have to report this has not happened to me; they seem to be OK.

Re: How Do I Dry Inside My CPAP Hose After Washing?
I say keep it bone-dry when not in use. You can run the machine for about 30 minutes in the morning to make sure all the droplets are dried. This might be overkill, but I really don't want anything growing in there.

Re: sleep apnea driver's license rules and laws
My biggest concern is that this will keep patients from being diagnosed. Some people have no other access to transportation. The fear of being told that one would not be allowed to drive could scare one away from seeking diagnosis.
