Saturday

Last night I repeated everything I did the night before in hopes of recreating the apparently un-recreatable. Like a dog chasing it's tail, but if Thursday nights get ready for bed routine worked, doing exactly the same Friday night would have to work, right? HA! It only confirms what Pugsy said. No...

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

After dinner I set up the coffee maker and the cpap. Water, hose, all of it. Then I chill for tv. Maybe get that done first so you don’t have to wake up so to speak to get it ready. Maybe trim those shnoz hairs early too. lol Great idea... I will try that tonight and see if that helps. It's weird t...

Re: thinking about trying a mask liner, do they seal ok?

I'm thinking about ordering some mask liners because my face has been getting sweaty under the silicone seal and causing leaks and discomfort. Does anyone use these and if so do they work? When my wife was in the hospital 2 years ago and was being discharged, she had a big pack of the 13" X 13" dis...

Re: Newbie: Leaking Mask & Dry Mouth

Also- don't over tighten your mask. I don't remember who, but just the other day I saw a link in someones profile about how to fit your mask- loosely. For me, that works best. I just found the link in Janknitz profile. Although not the mask I use, it is a general guideline and this helped me a lot....

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

Because we don't sleep the same each night for any number of reasons and we don't always know why the big difference. Then even when we do have a clue about the problem it isn't so easy to fix. but sometimes what I do works and sometimes it doesn't and even knowing all this doesn't mean I can put a...

Friday- What a difference a day makes....

Good morning and happy Friday to all of my friends here. Life and the CPAP journey for me is a game of inches. Small tweaks can sometimes make a huge difference. And, as I am finding, not always repeatable, but I hope to change that. Last night I adjusted the humidity from 4 to 3 for no other reason...

Re: Newbie: Leaking Mask & Dry Mouth

Update. I purchased a cheap strap from Amazon and it not only keeps my mouth shut, but my mask has miraculously started sealing 95% better! Try a foam cervical collar to help prevent jaw drop. It also keeps the neck/spine in the proper position for airway patency. Quit tightening the mask so hard! ...

Re: Sleep study results

Brad s I am in colorado also. Had to wait six weeks to just get my results told to me. That happens on Tuesday on the phone. Then another phone call with respiratory therapist. Very anger with kaiser also. I have had them 30 years and never waited 6 weeks for anything. I call Apria to see what mach...

Re: Sleep study results

I have kaiser but also Medicare so I only pay 10%. I don't know about Medicare but I can address Kaiser and have some advise that might benefit you. Not sure where you are, but I am in Kolorado. I have the same 10% DME deductible as you. I paid $77 for my AirSense 11 AUTOSET. As far as the availabi...

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

Good morning- I'm still here, just quiet. I have had a couple of rough nights. My AHI numbers weren't bad, just so much interrupted, broken up sleep. SWJ. Last night was better. I went back to the cervical collar and the AirFit N30 and slept 5:21 uninterrupted with the last 20 minutes awake trying t...

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

Busy weekend but wanted to drop by and say hello and hope everyone is doing well. Last nights recording was short. 3:46 and the 2 additional times where I put the mask on and took it off again before I fell asleep, for whatever reason. Still having trouble with leaks but they do not cause any arousa...

F&P Question

Question 2 for the day... You guys tired of my nonsense yet? Do any of you know anything about the venting on the F&P Fisher & Paykell nasal masks? I started using the F&P Evora FFM 2 weeks ago and I mostly LOVE it. It solved my exhaling issues completely and I breathe freely in and out while...

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

Qmart -snickers- I started here the same day as you and cpap general around the same time. You beat me here by 2 hours That said- don’t hate me but it was so good today with 6 arousals all night the I feel like I am on speed without the jitters and heart palpitations. Good grief! I know I am just a...
