Re: Correlation between leaks and events
Again how come you ended up with this machine Not going there. Thanks. lack of cooperation reduces our ability to help you. I understand the intent of Pugsy's question. I also understand the intent of your response. However, I came here with a specific superficial question that DogSlobber addressed...

Re: Correlation between leaks and events
Now your not showing the leaks, that's one of the things your suggesting there is correlation between. But that graphs does show higher pressure during events, which is expected with an ASV. Therefore i think it's pretty save to assume that the leaks are probably a consequence of higher pressure an...

Re: Correlation between leaks and events
It would be helpful to show pressure as well as Flow-Limitations. I don't think there is a direct correlation between leaks and events, but there could be corelations between events and other items that can result in greater leaks. For example, sleep stage (REM) often results in more events and the...

Is this better:Pugsy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 11:23 amSee this thread for examples of what graphs we like to see...we don't need all the graphs that OSCAR gives you.

Correlation between leaks and events
https://imgur.com/gallery/D24Y5UO (red lines added for emphasis) I realize this may be impossible to answer, but I find it interesting in "shower thoughts" mode. I'm currently getting used to a new mask and have never had so few leaks, and my AHI is also the lowest, so the following observations see...

Re: Favorite tricks to reduce apnea WITHOUT CPAP/BIPAP etc
how'd you sleep last night? did you get any rest at all? Couldn't fall asleep on my side. So, I remembered I had a wedge pillow at the back of a closet and slept on that, mostly of my back in a recline position. I slept okay for me, better than some nights during the CPAP trial in fact. I did wake ...

It's not like that here--yet, anyway.

Re: Favorite tricks to reduce apnea WITHOUT CPAP/BIPAP etc
The best revenge against sucky insurance is to survive in spite of their best efforts to prevent you from costing them money--(by dying.) You go! I know what you mean. But in my case, it's really having to wait to get an ECG that is the hold up. With the COVID situation, I can only hope it doesn't ...

Re: Favorite tricks to reduce apnea WITHOUT CPAP/BIPAP etc
I would skip alcohol for the mean time for sure, and in case you suspect UARS I personally feel skipping intense sports is smart as well (no proof, own experience). I never drink, so that's not an issue. I don't have any symptoms of cardiac disease or suspect any. It's just the specialist exercisin...

Re: Favorite tricks to reduce apnea WITHOUT CPAP/BIPAP etc
To get an ASV, many patients must “fail” regular PAP and bilevel PAP. It seems cruel to me. Anobono, good luck hanging in there. Thanks. 61 days with a machine, for an average of 7.5 hours per night, including 3 nights with the pulse-oxygen meter, and the results were discouraging in terms of the n...

Re: Favorite tricks to reduce apnea WITHOUT CPAP/BIPAP etc
In addition to the ideas of side-sleeping or in a recliner, one thing to consider is getting a soft cervical collar to help with keeping the airway open and help avoid positional apnea. They can be had for < $20 on Amazon. If interested let us know and folks can chime in on their favorites. Interes...

Re: Favorite tricks to reduce apnea WITHOUT CPAP/BIPAP etc
i see you say "start/resume", does that mean you have used the machine before? I didn't want to go into details, but I have had a failed trial with a CPAP, and the pulmonologist just ended it. It's not for me. I'll have to wait a number of months (for reasons) before we try a BiPAP ASV. So, in the ...
