Re: What would be the CPAP strategy if you have REM phase apnea not measured by your CPAP?
Thanks for the replies. Sorry for the late reply, for some reason notifications do not work for me. But I also concluded this forum is just not for me, I will stick to another forum that fits me better. Cheers!

What would be the CPAP strategy if you have REM phase apnea not measured by your CPAP?
Hi all, My second post as a few things have now been cleared up, my first and rather long post is https://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t183544/Sudden-stop-of-positive-CPAP-therapy-effects.html . This was about my CPAP therapy all of a sudden stoppen being effective after 4 months of small positive ste...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
Yesterday I tried slightly different settings, from CPAP 5.0 (no ramp/EPR) to APAP 4.0 - 6.0 (no ramp/EPR 2) as I notice more and more I have trouble exhaling. I have a lot of data now from different pressure settings (between 4.0 and 8.6), but my flow profile seems to not change that much (compared...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
Thanks again for taking time to help! I thought about changes a lot, indeed. And the only things on the CPAP side are 1) a power out on November 14th and 1 week later I called in sick for work and 2) end of October I swapped the normal air intake filter for an anti-allergenic filter. I am told both ...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
I realize the Garmin is not perfect, but it does seem to reflect very well how I feel and also the data in OSCAR. I can't help it, due to education and character I am very data driven and looking for logic and correlations. Probably too much sometimes, but can't help it :-). On the other hand, witho...

Re: Favorite tricks to reduce apnea WITHOUT CPAP/BIPAP etc
I would skip alcohol for the mean time for sure, and in case you suspect UARS I personally feel skipping intense sports is smart as well (no proof, own experience).

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
So now that my experiments with pressure have all failed and I even gave myself an Afib attack, I decided to (at least for some time) revert back to the settings that some months ago did work for me. CPAP mode at pressure 5.0, no ramp, no EPR. Here my second try (with the tips given) to show the dat...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
Hoeksel, go into your settings and turn on the setting for antibacterial filter. I don't know that this will make much difference, but it'd be good to take care of that. I think it will be valuable for your to stick with a given setting for at least a week so you can really see how it works for you...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
Thanks for taking the time to take a look, curious for your feedback. Good night all! congratulations on getting your charts posted! just one tiny thing-it will help the experts if you format your charts as forum member grumpy here suggests- "The easy way to set the OSCAR (v1.2) graphs in the prefe...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
Last post before I try to get some sleep: CPAP 8.4 EPR 2 after a few days the same pressure. I felt comfortable, except today as I not my nose is blocked for proper intake of air (also without mask). Thanks for taking the time to take a look, curious for your feedback. Good night all! CPAP 8.4 EPR 2...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
Here I started playing with higher pressures as I did not get anywhere. APAP 7.6-10.0 EPR 3. Please note this was a 1-timer so I was not adjusted to these pressures, and I felt not to great this short session because of the higher pressure. Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
Here the same CPAP 5.0 setting without EPR/ramp but where my therapy seemed not to work anymore. Two events happened. I went from normal air intake filters to hypoallergenic filters (official Resmed, should not impact anything), and on November 14th I woke up because the whole area where I live we h...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
Here my first try to post OSCAR data. This is at CPAP mode 5.0 without ramp/EPR in the period where I was doing better after starting therapy July 20th. First the overview of a random picked day and a zoom-in on an event to show the flow shape mainly. CPAP 5.0 15-09-2021 overview.jpg CPAP 5.0 15-09-...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
Welcome! If I'm getting the right picture, you started feeling a bit better after introducing EPR -- is that right? If FLs were part of your problem, the EPR might be responsible for helping with them. And yes, FLs can, for some people, mess with normal sleep cycles. If you're not having a lot of c...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
Last but not least, I recently visited an osteopath (is this the correct naming?) who verified my diaphragm was like a brick wall. Are you speaking of surgical plication of the diaphragm? ---> https://www.bcm.edu/healthcare/specialties/the-lung-institute/thoracic-surgery/plication-of-the-diaphragm ...
