Re: Explanation for insomnia?

I saw this article this morning, too! I downloaded F.lux right away and am eager to see how well it works. I have always had a problem getting to sleep (and staying asleep) at night. I read something about six months ago about how blue light disrupts the production of melatonin in your body, and I i...

Re: Do you wash your new tubing before first use?

Thanks for all of your replies. I usually wash mine, too... just feeling tired today and didn't know if I was being over-cautious and just creating more work for myself. Guess not! So now I'm off to wash my new hose...

Thanks again everyone!

Do you wash your new tubing before first use?

Just curious... who here uses new CPAP tubing straight out of the package, and who washes it first? On a side note, my current hose sprung a leak that I couldn't fix. My insurance only covers two hoses per year, so I checked with a medical supply store around the corner... I couldn't believe it, the...

Re: Soft palate dryness / texture

Thanks, folks, for your replies... My description of sand-papery might be a little too harsh... my soft palate is soft and slick but a little bumpier (like tiny grains of sand sprinkled over the skin) than the hard palate roof of my mouth. I've been scoped and poked by my ENT every year since 2002, ...

Re: Poll: Breastfed/Bottlefed and OSA - Please vote ...

Hi everyone... My father was not breastfed but instead drank goat's milk from a bottle, and he has sleep apnea. My mother breastfed me for about 6 months and I have sleep apnea. I breastfed my son for 4-1/2 years and he has sleep apnea. So I'm thinking with our family that OSA is more of matter of g...

EncorePro software and M-Series Auto w/ C-Flex: Ver 1.6 OK?

Can anyone confirm if EncorePro software ver. 1.6i will work with the M-Series Auto w/ C-Flex ? (I know it won't work with the M-Series Auto w/ A-Flex .) I have the EncorePro software ver. 1.6i and currently use it with my M-Series CPAP w/ C-Flex, but want to buy an M-Series Auto. If the software I ...

Thanks everyone for the great (and quick!) responses... and you are all right. I am going to get the Auto with A-Flex.

ONE MORE QUESTION: Does anyone use the M-Series Auto with the HC150 humidifier, or do you think it's best to use the M-Series integrated humidifier?

I can't decide which M-Series Auto to get: A-Flex or C-Flex?

Hi everyone, I have been using the M-Series CPAP with C-Flex for the past year, but I am now considering getting an M-Series Auto. I'm still having more apneas than I would like, but have not had much luck getting rid of them by tweaking my pressure settings. I thought an Auto might help me improve ...

Finally, some mouth taping success!

I've been struggling with LMS (Leaky Mouth Syndrome!) since I started CPAP in 2006. After reading through many posts and getting ideas on how to fix this, I finally have some success. Here's what's working for me: Criss-cross two bandaids in an X over my lips (provides the strength needed to keep my...

I like the M-Series

Hi there, I have had both. Started CPAP therapy with the S8 Elite but switched after a few months to the M-Series so that I could use the Encore Pro software (couldn't get the ResMed software or card reader). My husband and I both realized immediately that the M-Series was much quieter and softer so...

Hi Eric, Glad to hear that you like the WristOx 3100. We chatted briefly about this earlier in the week, but I'm sending my SPO7500 back, too, because it was DOA. I also thought it was very cheap and looked like it would break easily, plus it only had a 12-month warranty and you couldn't change sens...

Profox vs. nVision? Pulse-oximeter software questions.

I am in the market for a pulse-oximeter and software. I tried the SPO7500 but it was DOA, so it is going back. It didn't seem very durable to me and it only has a 12-month warranty, so I decided to exchange it for something else. One good thing about my brief SPO7500 experience (besides learning fir...

What a coincidence... I logged on to cpaptalk.com tonight to see if anyone could help me get my new SPO7500 to work. I was very dismayed to see this thread! After reading all the great posts about the SPO7500 last week, I ordered one from Turner Medical on Monday. It shipped yesterday and arrived to...

I tried the J&J tape last night. It was very comfortable and was pretty easy to remove in the morning, so I was pleased. Unfortunately, I did still wake up at one point in the night with my mouth dry (but not parched) and the area between my lips and teeth all gummed up and stuck together, so perhap...
