Help! CPAP mask emergency overseas

Help! Has anyone ever gotten Respironics RemstarPLus comfortgel mask shipped outside the US in a matter of days? I'm outside the US, and my nasal mask has just broken. The US providers I've spoken to all say it'll take a couple of weeks to get something out to me. I'll be in HK for the next 2 days, ...

From my recent experience, the answer is no, you can't, not if you are flying OUT of Heathrow. (Flying in is a different matter, the rules of your departure airport apply). I can't speak for the airline, but I've been through Heathrow 4 times in the past 2 weeks, 3 times with BA and once with AA. Ea...

I would be interested in hearing if (a) they let you on the plane with it as handlugguage and (b) you are able to use it in-flight, as I will be travelling a fair amount on Chinese airlines in the future.
Thanks!

CPAP airflow on planes

I noticed that the airflow/pressure from my CPAP seems much weaker when I"m using it on a plane, and I find it hard to breathe, as if I'm not getting enough air, when I have the mask on. Should I be adjusting for altitude? Something else? Anyone else with a similar problem and suggestions on how to ...

Someone posted earlier saying they were concerned that the bans on gels and shoe inserts may be applied to gel masks. I did Boston, Heathrow and Singapore over the past 10 days (went through Heathrow twice) and everything was fine, gel mask, machine and all. The UK and Singapore airport security sta...

OK, update on the salad dressing for CPAP - hate the way apple cider vinegar smells, it's white vinegar for me from now on!

David
My bet would be that pre-CPAP we get used to how we feel. With CPAP most people experience a gradual "getting better", "feeling better." Improvement can be gradual, but I doubt if there's much of anything gradual about going back. Go back suddenly to no CPAP for a night and, WHAM, that...

More cleaning questions - can we use normal tap water to clean? We dont' have to wash everything distilled water, right? OK to rinse off diluted vinegar solution after cleaning with normal tap water? If the vinegar soak is supposed to help kill bacteria, among other things, wouldn't rinsing off with...

Re: ? remember a posting re brain damage found with MRI
During the last week, approx., I read something about a cpap user having an MRI. This showed some brain damage due to loss of blood supply to one area of his/her brain, presumably caused by untreated OSA, for which he was to have some sort of treatment. I wonder what sort of treatm...

I didn't know we could use different types of vinegar Will go experiment with what kind of salad I want to smell like.

Playing with the temperature in my room seemed to help too. (As in a hotter room is better)

Re: mask fit and neck movement

Since my Comfort Gel mask's adjustment depends on a neck strap, it only fits me well when my neck is in the exact position it was in when I adjusted it. Then if I tilt my head back, it pushes too hard on the bridge of my nose, which is probably why I have mask marks on my nose and a sore nose bridg...

Thanks, very helpful. It seems that the sinus/headache thing is slightly worse when I don't clean and soak everything in vinegar each day... not sure if it's a coincidence, placebo effect or what, but I'm going to stockpile vinegar now.

This is very interesting.... I have chronic heartburn which the doctors kind of do a yeah, whatever, you don't have an ulcer and there's nothing obvious wrong..... Is this something I can talk to my family doctor about, or do I need a specialist? So CPAP causes GERD? Makes it worse? GERD contributes...
