Has anyone tried, or thought about, surgery as a treatment for OSA? Does it work? What is the success rate? Would that be better than CPAP?

Bogus Medical Advice
When I first picked up my mask, the supplier representative said "There's a lot of stuff out there on the Internet; please let us give you advice before you start buying things". This is good counsel, so far as it goes. As anyone knows who surfs the 'Net regularly (and many of us do), there is a lot...

Side Sleeping Revisited
I am coming to the conclusion that any mask with a structural side element won't work for me. I am a confirmed side sleeper, with face firmly planted in the pillow. I am using the ComfortCurve, but when I turn over even that small nasal interface is pushed out of line. So, I end up artificially hold...

Please, let's not let this discussion go down hill. I am SO pleased to have found so many people, not only with the same problem, but who are proactive in dealing with the snags and speed bumps--of which there seem to be plenty. I get the feeling the medical profession is not too involved at this le...

I don't disagree with you. I was merely making a technical point about the sharing of software. I am in the sad position of enforcing the DMCA on my campus, which is why I used the college student example. My other point, about support, was made without knowing anything about you. Hence, it was inte...

On the theory that if some is good, more is better, I asked my doc if I could increase the initial pressure. He said that his research had shown that there is a clear potential for an increase in events with an increase in pressure--there is a kind of curve beyond which the condition gets worse as p...

From someone who encounters this with college students and MP-3 files all the time: So long as the software is copyrighted (and it doubtless is), giving it away to someone else (or selling it to someone else) is a copyright violation. No doubt about it. Is anyone going to know? Probably not. But con...

So, I bought a contoured memory pillow and suspended the hose above my bed; I now appear to be tethered to the wall. The ComfortCurve might work, although I still sometimes feel whisps of air blowing past the mask, usually near my cheekbones. I shaved my moustache back from the base of my nose--no m...

I am on my 3rd evening with a ComfortCurve nasal mask and machine plus humidifier. I am completely new to this. I hate it. I threw the mask off the first night, in distress. I am a side-sleeper, and was once a mouth-breather. I can't tell when a leak is unacceptable or not (and hence fuss with the ...
