Re: "False" CA's but isn't it still Apnea?
In the snippet you provided, the CAs come as you pause after exhaling; you're not holding your breath. You're right that there's arousal breathing at the start of this interval, though whether that disruption accounts for the later CAs is hard to say. But I'm intrigued that with pain relief your CA...

Excellent point. Too bad we cannot stay on low dose steroids! They do solve so many issues!chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 10:44 amYou might still be experiencing the effects of stopping prednisone.
Amazing drug, but the body learns to like it a little too well.

Re: "False" CA's but isn't it still Apnea?
Thank you for taking time to answer my question. I squirm during the night because of back pain. Technically I do not turn over, I only turn once during the night. I know we all hold our breath off and on during the day. It seems like 50-81 times is excessive. And the CA’s are all preceded by errati...

"False" CA's but isn't it still Apnea?
I understand that my 50-80 CA's every night are probably not true central apneas, but related to tossing and turning, etc. However, when I look at OSCAR it shows that during the supposed CA's there is still no breathing, sometimes for to 20 seconds. Surely I don't hold my breath for that long. So my...

Thoughts on the new F and P mask
Is anyone thinking of trying the new Fisher and Paykel Evora full face mask when it finally hits the US? I am totally happy with the F30 and an Amara headgear. It works well for me. But this new one looks to be an improvement on the F30. I have no experience with F and P masks, only ResMed, so I don...

Re: Did I damage my APAP?
I did the exact same thing about a week ago. And sat it back up on the table upside down, lol. It is working fine and seems to have suffered no damage. I have since put some "museum gel" on the bottom so it won't go anywhere.

Re: Airfit F30i Users - Longevity
I have used these masks for over a month, but they did get floppy and start to leak. Since Medicare provides one a month, that is when I change it. I may try cutting the small piece between the nose. I breathe better using a Breathe Right strip on my nose already, so this would be even better.

The sleep clinic told me to tape it on…worked fine.

Re: Pugsy was correct, as always
Of course, Pugsy is always right, that's why we love her! My body feels better on prednisone but I turn into a crazy person that's really scary when tapering off! Glad that I don't have to be on it often or for very long! Have you tried an anti-inflammatory diet or natural anti-inflammatories like ...

You are spot on as always. I find that as long as I can understand what is going on, I can deal with it. I do hope you are continuing to get some relief! Hugs

Pugsy was correct, as always
She helped me so much to get started and to understand OSCAR. She told me that all of my CA's were not true ones, but probably showing up because of tossing and turning due to back and neck pain. For four days I have been on prednisone, which of course is the best antiinflamatory. Here is a snapshot...

Re: Finding the Sweet Spot
Actually I think I may have found my magic combination...the F30 mask with Amara View head gear and a Breathe Right strip on my nose. I have had two nights of uninterrupted sleep! I agree with one poster who said the nasal holes on the F30 felt too small, so I used the strips to open up the nose. It...

Re: Finding the Sweet Spot
What made me start thinking about this was watching a LankyLefty video on you tube. It is his opinion that people do better on a constant pressure than they do on APAP. That made me wonder how one knows how to pick the setting. I am out of town and away from my computer, but I will post some Oscar d...
