Finding the Sweet Spot

If I want to experiment with a constant pressure instead of using a range, how do I identify where to set it? I have been on APAP for three months for OA. Since the first night I have had 99% no OA’s. Maybe one every couple of weeks The current range, ordered by the doc is 5-11. All of my events are...

Re: CPAP causing vertigo symptoms??

After reading this whole thread I wonder why the administrator doesn’t close a thread when it gets off course from the subject and disintegrates into name calling and personal attacks? Just my humble opinion. In this thread it went off topic and disintegrated before we really had real time moderato...

Re: Can anyone recommend a good pillow for a side-sleeping CPAP user?

I love my buckwheat pillow because I am a side sleeper and I can push the pillow around the mask away from it and it stays that way. I never thought I would buy one, but I am glad I did.

Re: UPDATE: YEA My First Oscar submission

Advice from you (the mild mannered and the grumpy) and an unbelievable amount of time and effort by Pugsy reviewing my data in minute detail has made a difference. Settling on a minimum pressure of 7, maximum of 11, EPR of 3, no ramp and a mask that fits has given me several nights of solid sleep wi...

Looks to me like you're getting a decent night's sleep with very low AHI. Not sure what you're trying to fix?
From OSCAR charts, you can only tell that "they are getting a decent night's breathing". Sleep is a different matter.
This is so true! Thank you.

Re: Mask liners treated with chemical additives

Hi there. I am using the PadaCheek liner for the F30i mask which does not have adhesives; it uses velcro tabs and is washable. There is no mention of it being treated with anything (which is not necessary anyway from an old retired epidemiology RN). I think it is made of microfiber. It works great a...

Re: Daaylight Savings Time

I saw a great meme this week about daylight savings time showing a very wise looking Native American who said "Only white men would cut two inches off the top of a blanket, sew it on the bottom and think they have longer blankets." So true

Re: Survived my first night on a CPAP

Your first nights look 100% better than mine did. I would say you are off to a great start :!: Thank You, it definitely takes some getting used to. My doctor said to follow up in 2 months so I am winging it for now..... I started on 9/14 and this morning I pulled the mask off and planned to get ano...

Re: Newby having difficulty with mask and falling asleep

I can totally sympathize with you. I could have written the exact same thing. It is hell when you first start in this journey. This may be of no help but I will throw it out there. The sleep clinic told me I had poor sleep hygiene. So I followed their directions and it made a whale of a difference. ...

Re: YEA My First Oscar submission

Wishing you a pain free or at least a lesser pain day. Thank you. It's turning colder now and that never bodes well for me when it comes to pain...and when we wake up dreaming that we hurt....well...probably not going to be a good day but as you say....if all I have to bitch about is a little bit o...

Re: YEA My First Oscar submission

If a minimum pressure is set on 5 and the EPR is on 3, I know that this does not work because it won't let the pressure go below 4. But does EPR reduce it to 4 anyway or do nothing. Might as well set it on 1 right? Correct for the period of time that the pressure is at 5 cm but remember when using ...
