Re: Small rant

Different insurances have different processes and delays to to verify the procedure will be covered. They deal with hundreds of carriers and plans all the time, their process is designed to accommodate such delays. They *may* have access to your coverages, but they *don't* have access to what cover...

Re: Small rant

Bummer. I hope it doesn’t take very long.

Yes, I understand people need to get paid, but they have access to my coverages and know my insurance is excellent. I don’t want anybody to get stuck holding the bag, but that doesn’t apply here.

Oh well.

I guess money rules the world.

Small rant

So the sleep study said I have severe OSA and CSA, but when it comes down to getting a second sleep study so that they can titrate me, it’s “wait ten days because we need to make sure your insurance will cover it.” Has anybody ever heard of insurance not covering it? Isn’t this a potentially life th...

What to do while waiting for machine?

I’m so tired. I’m the one that went to the doctor because I was noticing that I was essentially having centrals while dozing. They snap me awake until I’m too tired to care. No, it isn’t every day but many. Today is one of those bad days where I can’t even nap right. My 2nd study isn’t until Sept 9....

Re: Sharing some of my study results. They don't sound good.

Titrating you on a bilevel machine is a fairly common practice, though I'm not sure why, since using bilevel support can actually increase CAs. I STRONGLY urge you to request that the night of titration move on to a trial on an ASV machine if (as I would expect) the bilevel machine still leaves you...

Re: Sharing some of my study results. They don't sound good.

Your diagnosis of obstructive apnea puzzles me; your results seem to me more congruent with mixed apnea. You might want to press for more information or clarity around that. They gave me a duel diagnosis of OA and CA. Beats me why they didn't combine them, but I'm not familiar with the medical numb...

Sharing some of my study results. They don't sound good.

Hi all Thought I'd share some of the results off my sleep study, so maybe you can tell me what I can expect during my follow-up meetings. First, I failed it. The study was 7 1/2 hours long, of which I slept 3 hours 3 minutes. Part of that was just the new surroundings and wires. I had 33 awakenings ...

Mask naming conventions

Hello all

I think I'm seeing a pattern in the naming of some of the masks out there, but I'm not able to put it together. Some start with F, others with N, and some have an i at the end. Is there a list of what all that means somewhere?

Thanks

Re: mask recommendations?

Several new models of nasal masks are now available. ... Your final results will of course depend on your own personal needs or wants and there is no guarantee that your needs match anyone elses. One person's treasure is another person's trash when it comes to masks. You just have to try a mask to ...

mask recommendations?

Hello all Newbie. I just failed my sleep study. I know this because at 12:30 am, the nice lady came back into the room with a nose only mask and said, "Put this on." :D I was on a CPAP a dozen years ago, and found that I liked the Swift FX nasal pillow system, but I'm wondering if there have been an...
