Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

I've decided that I won't be pursuing PAP therapy any longer; this is mainly because PAP has uptil now made my sleep so much worse that I can't see it reversing that and improving on my old baseline sleep quality in just two months (after two months I'll hopefully be starting ortho treatment for UAR...

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

Ok got it, thanks again.
The y-axis scaling I guess can overemphasise the magnitude of the numbers.

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

Ok thanks again for the detailed reply! That's very interesting.

I have a sleep study with the NHS coming up, so I might as well ask the sleep tech whether using Pes would at all be possible.

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

Attached are the results from last night.
Had a bad stomach ache so sleep was very fragmented and couldn't stay asleep from around 3:30AM onwards - so not too much data to go off.

Are the leak rate numbers something to try and correct or is this normal?

Thanks!

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

I was thinking about this comment a bit more; does that mean you would think an ASV over auto bi-level would be better for UARS? No, not really. Remember that ASV algorithm is still for obstructive apneas plus it breathes for you when there are central apneas. It still isn't designed for the subtle...

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

UARS...a tough nut to crack because you have to remember that the auto adjusting algorithm was never designed for the minute changes in the airway that make up UARS. It was designed for OSA and you don't have a very remarkable OSA. I wouldn't be surprised if you needed more minimum to resolve any U...

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

Attached is last night's data. Seemed to have a few CAs during sleep (assuming the Dreem was accurate about sleep staging, which I will double check). From around 4AM, it seems like the machine was increasing pressure in reaction to the leaks? Or is it the machine reacting to flow limitations by inc...

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

Good to see you solving problems, and I’m sure you’ll sleep better and better as you get used to the experience. If you feel like it, you could do a zoom in to about a 15 minute scale to scroll through your flow rate when the Dreem said you were awake and you thought you were asleep. If the flow ra...

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

Attached is the data for last night. The mask stayed on until wake time due to the hose lift and tube management tips, and condensation wasn't as much of a problem! I swapped out the flow rate graph for sleep stage data from the Dreem headband; I was awake for around 2 hours, according to the Dreem,...

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

Pugsy, thanks for explaining about the image limitation. I resized. For what it's worth, I too have a Dreem headband. I imported the data into Oscar, which makes a graph for the sleep stages. I found some anomalies -- times I knew I was awake when the Dreem thought I was asleep, and vice versa -- b...

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

Ambient bedroom temps have a huge impact on condensation in the mask or hose. Cooler bedroom temps mean the air in the hose or mask cools down faster which causes the formation or condensation of the moisture in the mask or hose. Since most of us don't want to increase ambient bedroom temps....the ...

It's usually at 18 C (64.4 F). Thanks for the tip; I've covered my entire tubing in socks with tape so hopefully that'll do the trick!

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

Attached last night's OSCAR stats. EEG tracker said I fell asleep at 1:02 AM. I made a hose stand which definitely seemed to help before it broke; but then by just after 2AM, I think it broke and the mask came off, which I barely remember. So not much data to go off today, unfortunately. Another obs...

Re: [therapy] Help with UARS and AirCurve 10 VAuto

Curious as to which EEG sleep tracker you have and why it was choosen. Thanks for the video link - will check it out soon. I have a Dreem 2 headband, which unfortunately isn't being sold to customers anymore. They do sometimes pop up on eBay, though. I chose it because it was pretty much the only r...
