Re: New machine, doubled AHI - what could be cause?
Okay, so I've been trying to make just one change every 4-5 days to give each change a chance to settle in. I stayed with starting out sleeping on my left side each night, no new strap adjustments as my leak rate has been consistently low. First I stopped the melatonin, but kept everything else the ...

Re: New machine, doubled AHI - what could be cause?
Darn machine had a SD card error and only saved the stats last night, but my AHI was 2.0. That's quite acceptable, and probably due to sleeping the last part of the night on my right side. Tonight I'm skipping the melatonin because my dreams get wilder the longer I take it, but definitely going with...

Re: New machine, doubled AHI - what could be cause?
Get this: last night, I hadn't read your reply yet, so I didn't change anything. I did tighten my mask straps up a bit because they're new too and stretching out a bit as they break in. I had some trouble falling asleep, so I got up after an hour of tossing and took a melatonin. My right shoulder wa...

Re: New machine, doubled AHI - what could be cause?
I had to update my version of Oscar to get it to read the data from the new 11 machine, but I finally got it to work. Comparing the settings, the only differences are: Ramp auto rather than a set time of 25 minutes, EPR level is 3 instead of 2, Climate is auto rather than manual. The last 30 days on...

Re: New machine, doubled AHI - what could be cause?
I'm getting a similar thing after switching from my 5 year old 10 to an 11. My AHIs on the 10 were in the 1-2 range and the 11 says I'm up to 4-6 per hour. Same mask. I hacked into the clinical menu to check the settings, and as far as i can see the settings are the same. I bought a SD card last wee...

Re: Airsense 11 offgassing
I just got an Airsense 11 as a replacement for my "moo-ing" autoset 10. I soaked the new reservoir and hose in baking soda water to get rid of the plastic smell (rinsed thoroughly after, of course). There is definitely also a smell coming from the machine that reminds me of original listerine, but it...

Re: ResMed airsense 10 question
Thanks all. And despite the leaks, my AHI is down to an average of 1.8, so something is working. I do need to get the beast serviced, because it makes mooing noises with my breathing when the pressures are up...I have to put a pillow over it to muffle the noise. (Yes, the air filter is clean and uno...

Re: ResMed airsense 10 question
Thanks Dog. I will pull the card and check if it's actually reducing pressure when apneas aren't happening. My impression is that once it ramps up the pressure, it never drops back down. This started fairly recently (along with some other issues), and I'm thinking my machine is starting to go kaput....

ResMed airsense 10 question
My machine is about 4 years old and I can't remember something...when you wake up, it's suppose to sense that and decrease the pressure, right? I'm finding it hard to roll over and get back to sleep without it shifting and leaking with it pushing on my face so hard. I usually end up waking up more s...

Re: How do I remove redness from lower lip/chin after using a full face mask?
I have eczema and sensitive skin and my full face mask was a nightmare on my skin until I tried mask liners. I made my own at first in desperation from an old t-shirt, but now I get them from Silent Night. Side bonus, my mask cushions last way longer without the skin contact, offsetting some of the ...

Re: AirSense 10 "mooing" problem
By any chance, did you purchase the machine using Medicare? If so, Medicare requires the DME to replace any machine that fails within five years. As far as not having a backup machine, maybe you bought the machine from a local DME who can provide a loaner until this is resolved? I'm still 13 years ...

AirSense 10 "mooing" problem
Hi all, longtime lurker, first time poster. I've been on CPAP therapy for 3 years or so, and this board has been a huge help. In the last couple days my machine is persistently making a faint mooing sound with my breath almost identical to the one recorded in this thread: http://www.cpaptalk.com/vie...
