Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

I am interested if anyone has thoughts regarding the DME company continuing to charge a rental fee for a machine that cannot be used. I bought a new one out of pocket with a diferent company. These guys claim the insurance company told them to continue billing. Makes no sense to me. At least suspen...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

"Paranoia strikes deep, into your life it will creep........" How many have discontinued use of their foam mattress or pillows due to nightly exposure to highly toxic VOC's which is made worse by the heat of your body laying directly on it? The foam used in a CPAP is at best comprised of ...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

What I don't get is how Phillips could not have known far earlier that the foam released gasses. We are talking about many people with already compromised pulmonary systems breathing this stuff in, let alone the potential hazardous particles. Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

What do "ambulance-chasing lawyers" have to do with anything. The ambulance-chasing lawyers have everything to do with it. They are what the Philips lawyers are advising against. The Philips lawyers are evaluating the financial and legal risks for Philips. They are not evaluating the supposed healt...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

I don't know how many have seen this, but The Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency is the UK's version of the FDA. They seem to be downplaying the risks of the foam. They cite "currently available data" to say several of the VOCs dissipate after 24 hours out of box. Another one is "wi...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

I just started using the Dream station in the middle of February, and used it up to seeing the recall notification a few days ago. I've got mild sleep apnea so can do without a machine for now, but I am a little concerned about the potential injury. Watching Youtube videos where the Dream Station is...
