Re: Interpreting husband's results correctly?

You might try the minimum set to 9 for a little while and see what happens. It's not going to affect the CAs/central apneas most likely though. We can't fix centrals with more pressure but maybe he will sleep a bit more soundly/longer as I suspect some of those centrals are related to being awake/h...

Re: Interpreting husband's results correctly?

Thanks, pretty much what I expected with the Flow Limitation graphs. Fairly active and likely driving the pressures upwards. Let's see what happens with the FLs with a little higher minimum. Here are 3 charts from the past few weeks and it looks like the flow limitation has improved! Would you reco...

Re: Interpreting husband's results correctly?

Have him try 8 cm minimum with same EPR and see how he does. The machine is going up and down a lot but always pretty much averaging at least around 10 ish pressure. I wonder what his flow limitation graph looks like? Is he complaining of any nasal congestion to speak of? Flow limitations can drive...

Re: Interpreting husband's results correctly?

It's been a few weeks, enabling me to collect more data. I'm so grateful to LSAT for selling me the machine at just the right time--I can't imagine waiting months to go through the insurance hoops to get a sleep study while worrying about the effects of untreated sleep apnea. My husband is a pretty ...

Re: Interpreting husband's results correctly?

Sorry for being unclear! I meant that the increases in pressure mean that he does indeed need cpap/apap therapy. In other words, I'm looking for reassurance that we're pursuing the right path by setting him up with a machine, etc. (and it sounds like the answer is likely yes). Yes.....correction as...

Re: Interpreting husband's results correctly?

He wants to avoid doctors, so I've proposed the option of finding a used machine. Not a bad idea. You're in a good place to get the help to do that. He's lucky to have you and even luckier you were willing to share your cpap - ha. My husband has a saying that he doesn't want to encourage doctors or...

Re: Interpreting husband's results correctly?

... confirm with the experts here that it does look like there are issues with the increases in pressure. i don't know what you mean by this. but looking at the pressure graph, we can see that the minimum may want to be raised as it goes up to 6 or so and doesn't come back down really until the end...

Re: Interpreting husband's results correctly?

Don't worry about a handful of CA's... not important at all so far. I would raise his min. pressure to 6 or so and see how that goes for 1-2 nights, otherwise pretty good. Thanks Julie for the recommendation and the reassurance! I have to confess that since I have to go to work tomorrow, I'm using ...

Interpreting husband's results correctly?

I suspect my husband might have some sleep apnea issues due to the following: 1. Seems overly tired some days 2. A little weight gain 3. Does snore a little bit 4. Has admitted he wakes up every few hours and sometimes isn't able to go back to sleep, but attributed this to age (64). He isn't on any ...
