Re: Newbie looking for help on first Auto CPAP
Thanks for the replies everyone! The mask strap does seem to be stretching out a bit. My nose isn't as sore as it was but I will take all of the suggestions here under advisement. I'm still struggling to get a good night's sleep with the P10. One problem I am running into is the mask will seem to be...

Re: Newbie looking for help on first Auto CPAP
Well, it's been two nights and I am exhausted. I could use some advice to improve my experience. I'll elaborate on how things have been below and perhaps some of you could share your insights? The first night I tried the p10 nasal mask first. My nose quickly got sore and while I did drift off to sle...

Re: Newbie looking for help on first Auto CPAP
Ok, it's here!!! I'm excited to try my new Airsense 10 Autoset out tonight. I also have F20 (full face) and P10 (nasal) masks. CPAP.com sent an email saying my machine was setup and the pressure range is 4 cm - 16 cm. The startup video on Resmeds website basically said you just strap in and go. I tr...

Re: Newbie looking for help on first Auto CPAP
I ordered an Airsense 10, and F20 and P10 masks from CPAP.com. Everything should be here Sunday. Is there anything special I need to know about setting up the machine? Since this is my first time with one of these I want to do it right! Thank you all for your help! I can't say enough positive things...

Re: Newbie looking for a mask (for a man with a beard)
Thanks for the info everyone. It means a lot! I tried to go to a local CPAP shop, but the customer service was horrible. (They told me I could come in and try some masks, then the "respiratory therapist" there was annoyed the whole time, would barely let me try anything on, and she was extremely rud...

Re: Newbie looking for a mask (for a man with a beard)
Thanks for all these great replies! I do not know if I need a nasal only or full face mask. Like many I "sometimes" breath out of my mouth, but it really just depends on if I have a stuffy nose which happens at times. (I'm working through allergy shots to help limit this). A friend of mine who uses ...

Newbie looking for a mask (for a man with a beard)
Hello, I'm looking for my first mask. I'm 6' 3" and always seem to need larger than average hats and sunglasses (I'm not sure how universal mask sizing is). I also have a medium beard. I've heard that this can interfere with the seal and cause problems for some users. I'm curious what other men with...

Re: Newbie looking for help on first Auto CPAP
yesterday I received my prescription in the mail from my doctor so that I can purchase my supplies from whomever I wish. I called a local store called C-PAP Sentral. I was told that there was an "upgrade fee" of $350 to buy a Resmed Airsense unit because "it is one of their best machines." There wou...

Re: Newbie looking for help on first Auto CP
Thank you everyone for your replies. I thought that the pricing they were offering seemed absurdly high. I’m glad I asked. I believe the Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset was the unit they were talking about giving me. Make sure you specify exactly what you want. And you want the ”Autoset for Her” with th...

Re: Newbie looking for help on first Auto CPAP
2. I often have a slightly stuffy nose due to allergies and a deviated septum, so I believe I often end up sleeping with my mouth open. Have any of you found that a nasal mask allows you to overcome something like this due to the pressure and/or the humidifier? Some can, some can't. You won't know ...

Thank you everyone for your replies. I thought that the pricing they were offering seemed absurdly high. I’m glad I asked. I believe the Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset was the unit they were talking about giving me. My insurance is through Anthem. I’ll check with my insurance company and about a DME. I ...

Newbie looking for help on first Auto CPAP
Hello everyone, I've recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea. My doctor has recommended an auto CPAP. I wanted to join the forum and introduce myself in hopes of making the most of this new life adjustment. I've had some degree of apnea all of my life, but as I've gotten older it's gotten worse. Wh...
