Re: Will Medicare pay for a change to a BIPAP machine?

If Medicare paid for my first APAP machine, which I bought 15 months ago, will they also pay for a new BIPAP machine, if my sleep doctor recommends it after a sleep lab study? TIA. Yes....Medicare will pay for a different machine as long as the doctor recommends it and you have the needed supportin...

Re: Will Medicare pay for a change to a BIPAP machine?

Essentially, I had a friend who was able to loan one to me. The list of medical professionals who can prescribe CPAP equipment is quite extensive: MD, DO (Doctor of Osteopathy), PA (Physician's Assistant), NP (Nurse Practitioner), Dentist, and Naturopathic Physicians. I've never seen anyone describ...

Re: Will Medicare pay for a change to a BIPAP machine?

Medicare will pay for it if your doctor orders it. Medicare does not require a sleep study. All that is needed is for your APAP treatment to have "failed." I had a similar situation to yours a year ago. After using APAP for a year, I wasn't feeling that rested, even though average AHI was less than...

Re: Will Medicare pay for a change to a BIPAP machine?

I noticed that I wasn't really clear that Medicare bought my first machine in my original question, so just to be sure.... If Medicare paid for my first APAP machine, which I bought 15 months ago, will they also pay for a new BIPAP machine, if my sleep doctor recommends it after a sleep lab study? T...

Ask if you can do a home sleep study.
He wants the sleep lab study. Thanks for the link about BIPAP.

Will Medicare pay for a change to a BIPAP machine?

I've been on APAP (ResMed10 Autosense) for 15 months. I recently saw my sleep doctor who thought a BIPAP machine might work better for me, but I need to do another sleep study first, which I don't plan to do until the Covid surge settles down. Anyway, will Medicare pay for the BIPAP machine if the s...

Re: How reliable and trustworthy is data from a CPAP machine?

Today I wore my FFM around the house abit, then this afternoon, I laid in bed and attached it to my APAP. I changed the setting "Full Face Mask", but otherwise left my normal settings that I use with my Bleep. For around 10 to 15 minutes I read, then tried to nap. I never slept. Air didn't try to es...

Re: How reliable and trustworthy is data from a CPAP machine?

My initial feeling is YUCK I know people need them and like them and some prefer them but I am never going to be in that boat. Unless a FFM is my only option to get better sleep, I can't see myself ever changing to another mask over the BLEEP. I don't like feeling like crap simply from not enough s...

Re: How reliable and trustworthy is data from a CPAP machine?

As I was writing my last comment, I seem to recall hearing something about Bleep working on a Full Face mask. Does anyone know anything about that? Never heard of that at all. I am zero help with full face masks. I don't really like them at all for various reasons and my only experience is just try...

Re: How reliable and trustworthy is data from a CPAP machine?

What I am trying to figure out if those centrals flagged are real asleep centrals in which case there are a potential problem or if they are simply awake breathing irregularities getting flagged by mistake. Guess you need to take a crash course in flow rate evaluation. Watch the videos here with sp...

Re: How reliable and trustworthy is data from a CPAP machine?

As I was writing my last comment, I seem to recall hearing something about Bleep working on a Full Face mask. Does anyone know anything about that? IIRC in the interview with Jason, he said they are concentrating on the Dreamports system for now. He would love to work out an adhesive FFM. But as a ...

Re: How reliable and trustworthy is data from a CPAP machine?

Here's something else to think about. If the back sleeping is preferred but you are having poor sleep quality because of the chipmunk cheeks thing mainly...how about not taping the mouth and see just how bad leaks or sleep is if the thing causing the chipmunk cheeks isn't there? There may be a litt...
