Re: Moved to altitude, AHI tripled, Central AHI skyrocketed

finally got access to my OSCAR data..... things I noticed.....Clear Airway apnea skyrockets overnight in August, one week after moving to altitude..from 2/hour to 20/hour....interesting that there was a week of under 4/hour at altitude before it elevated suddenly. Couple of things I could think of.....

Re: Moved to altitude, AHI tripled, Central AHI skyrocketed

day 3 with new hose...5 hours: 1.4 total AHI/hr...1 central/hr so getting best numbers I've ever gotten....less groggy/no headache....still a bit brain fogged but maybe that will clear with time or is a thyroid issue I need to address but really encouraged that it appears it was a small leak/bad sea...

Re: Moved to altitude, AHI tripled, Central AHI skyrocketed

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Some potentially good news: I replaced my hose and my Central AI dropped from 15/hr to........1/hr. Any physical was less than 1! I wasn't showing any major leaks or anything but the hose was getting up there in age and I wanted to try everything. I have only used i...

Re: Moved to altitude, AHI tripled, Central AHI skyrocketed

I'll have to check insurance before I go back to a doctor. I thought I read somewhere in my paperwork for new insurance that it specifically excluded any coverage for sleep apnea but I need to double-check. For now I'm going to buy an oximeter and see what I can learn from that. I turned off my EPR ...

Re: Moved to altitude, AHI tripled, Central AHI skyrocketed

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3227706/ this study tested 150 sleep apnea patients each at 1400m , 1800m and 2100 m and their average Central AHI scores were 3, 12, and 19 respectively. Certainly seems that altitude plays a role! I'm about 1650m, so in the range where it looks to have ...

Re: Moved to altitude, AHI tripled, Central AHI skyrocketed

yeah I'm on a mac book air, so no built-in reader. Looking deeper into my Central AHI reports, they certainly do seem to jump up exactly when I moved to altitude. My 90 day central AHI average is 15 and total AHI is only 16.8...so it looks like my weight loss has maybe helped my obstructive numbers ...

Moved to altitude, AHI tripled, Central AHI skyrocketed

I moved to 5,000 feet elevation from 1,000 and even though I've lost weight (30 pounds) my AHI's are way higher. I was hitting 3-4 on average and felt pretty good as long as it was below 5. Now I'm probably averaging 14 AHI and routinely hit 15-20 and even hit 70 one night. My sleep study test showe...

Re: Trying to dial in CPAP- have charts

improved throughout the day...I'd say 7/10 by afternoon. mild brain fog, mild lethargy.....but vastly better than previous weeks have been. might be an accumulation of a few days halfway decent sleep adding up. I took this week off work just to rest up and recover. fingers crossed I have had this pa...

Re: Trying to dial in CPAP- have charts

brain fog lifted a little , I'd say feeling more like 6.5/10...could probably work half day if it was a workday and push through for 6 hours if needed.

Re: Trying to dial in CPAP- have charts

I don't remember waking up, seemed to sleep all the way through the chart I posted. I did have a little 30 min sleep session with no ahi an hour before this chart but I left it off. This happens often and it's frustrating that that's the sharpest i feel all day. I wake up feeling ok and thing great!...
