Re: Eyelid Twitch and MGD

Some people's eyes get drier from mask leaks that blow up into their eyes. Is it possible that's happening to you? In any event, your ophthalmologist should be your go-to person for treating your eye conditions. When you see her next, mention your CPAP usage and ask specifically about the twitches ...

Eyelid Twitch and MGD

Hi, I have had on and off eyelid twitching in my eyes (both of them) for the last 2 months. I tried not taking any form of caffeine and it did not work. Then, stopped taking relevant medicines (antidepressant) but it did not work too. I am always on PC or mobile screen when I am at work. Eye strain ...

Antihistamines can keep you up a lot (why I take melatonin at night) and shouldn't be dismissed.
Hi Julie,

Agree, I read similar things. Tolvon is also used as an antihistaminic. So, I've stopped using my previous antihistaminic.

Re: repetitive central apneas & possible cause

What about the basics first in terms of potential causes? Medication side effects messing with sleep....do you take any meds of any kind, even OTC???? Any other physical or mental health issues going on? We already know that you admit to some stress or anxiety as a result of the crappy sleep. Anyth...

Re: repetitive central apneas & possible cause

Sleep onset.. it is the problem without any solution I suppose :? It's been around a year when I started using my Apap (epr:2, 5-9 pressure, resmed S9), and similar time period I had sleep disruptions without palpitation, sweating, etc. Just sudden awakening with full open mind  It is called ...

repetitive central apneas & possible cause

Helllo, I wonder if anyone could comment on my OSCAR reading of yesterday. I've started taking Tolvon for sleep maintenance and in my second night with it I had a good sleep but my AHI result was unusually higher than the average, with repetitive CAs. I thought it could be because of some sort of ma...

Re: After first year's results

I'd better have another sleep study then. You will need to stop the CPAP usage for at least for a week prior to new testing. There is a washout period needed for accurate testing for CPAP users. Multiple papers suggest a "carryover effect". A speculation is that tissues heal from respiratory vibrat...

Re: After first year's results

Nice report! You should be proud of that. We don't say, "My exercise has been so good that I no longer have to worry about being active." We don't say, "I've been eating so healthy that I can now ignore what I eat." Likewise, we don't say, "My sleep-breathing has been so well treated by my PAP ther...

Re: After first year's results

I understood the relation now. I thought lower figures mean less need but this is not correct.

I'd better have another sleep study then.

Thanks for the replies.

After first year's results

Hi everyone, It has been one year I am using my APAP and today received my full year report. I wonder if you can comment whether I can stop using my APAP or not. My understanding is that the pressure is low enough (?) for me stop using it but I am pretty novice on commenting this matter. Will be gla...

Re: Need explanation about central apnea index

There are some people (very small minority) who find that using bilevel pressures can cause some unstable breathing and centrals happen. Using EPR at any setting can thus possibly cause centrals. Not all that common though. EPR creates a bilevel pressure situation. Easy way to check though...reduce...

Re: Need explanation about central apnea index

I'm a relative novice at this, but my "diagnosis" was the same as Pugsy's (before I saw the comment). There's a link to some good explanatory videos on interpreting Oscar somewhere here. Having watched these, I can see that the increased/disturbed breathing started before the flagged CA. That shows...

Re: Need explanation about central apnea index

Would be appreciated if you could comment the flow rate and CAs relation. Those 2 centrals you zoomed in on...your were NOT asleep. The breathing/flow rate prior to the flags show obvious arousal/awake breathing. The others (7) are pretty similar to these two. I suppose something makes me awake :?:...

Re: Need explanation about central apnea index

It's normal to have a few centrals during the night. Like it is normal to have a central apnea when transitioning from awake to asleep...also called sleep onset centrals. It is also normal to wake up after REM stage sleep cycle is completed....entirely normal. Most of the time we aren't awake long ...

Re: Need explanation about central apnea index

I almost every day wake up at around 4am to 6am and stay awake around 5 minutes, If that is your only complaint, you should consider yourself blessed. It's perfectly normal to awaken several times during the night and fall back to sleep in a short time. Five minutes is good. I am using Garmin watch...
