Rooster said "You can’t sleep on your side."
I find that side sleeping works fine with my CL2 nasal interface. I can't go to sleep lying on my back, so side sleeping is a must.

A friend uses a mandibular advancement device instead of a CPAP machine. In my view, the jury is still out on how effective it is. S/he recently used a pulse oximeter overnight and had 72 desaturations. One desaturation was 47 seconds to 79% minimum SpO2. Another was 80 sec to 88%. Another was 56 se...

Found A Great Tape Substitute for Dermiform
I have found a silk-like hypoallergenic cloth tape that is close to Dermiform in performance. (You will recall that Johnson & Johnson has discontinued Dermiform.) I am pleased with this new tape. The adhesive is less aggressive than 3M Micropore Paper Tape, but good enough so that it doesn't unstick...

Melisa's doc said, "Well maybe you'll get relief just from the c-flex and not auto. APAP is a more expensive machine so maybe you'll be willing to pay the difference . She can check with your insurance and all that." Melissa, the above is none of your doc's damn business . If you believe in pay for ...

Ask your CPAP machine supplier to loan you a pulse oximeter for an overnight study and give you a printout of the results. If your CPAP machine has a smart card, ask the suppler to read it and give you all the printouts that the software will provide. Take these printouts to your doc and ask for his...

The DME put me in a Respironics CPAP and a CL2 mask, all of which has worked out great (long term view -- short term was frustrating, but I don't think that had much to do with the brand of equipment). Then I bought Encore Pro software from the DME for $ 100. So I have no complaints. I have no more ...

Ozij and Krousseau, You make a good point. My thought is that the driver used as the example was clearly in violation of Federal and State driver regulations and common sense. Extending this driver's accident into a discussion of other causes of driver drousiness, i.e., sleep apnea, does a disservic...
