Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

Thanks for the response, Pugsy. Dang! Objective metrics would make this a lot easier! But I appreciate the reality check and suggestions. I’ll try to use a phone app to create a data set for my fatigue. On the images I posted, I recognized the arousal breathing after 3:56 but I wondered if that last...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS) - update and question

Hello! I am back with an update and another question. Update: I have finally made progress falling asleep and keeping the mask on! I got interrupted to do my two-night HST before xmas, but I finally have a streak of nights where I've worn the mask from bedtime until morning. The breakthrough seemed ...

Re: Tape recommendations for mouth breather

I use Hypafix. It sticks VERY well and has never bothered my very sensitive/reactive skin. You can cut it to whatever size works best for you. It is slightly porous so I press my lips together a tiny bit when I apply it so that I don’t end up breathing through it. It’s not the easiest to remove so w...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

Thank you, Pugsy! This is opening a whole world of flow curves that I was not aware of. I was just looking at the FL rate on my OSCAR data. Ooook, now that I know what you are looking for, I have some additional samples. My first examples were smoother than most in my data. There is also a lot of th...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

Oh gotcha! I am basing that on the FL line on OSCAR. I didn’t know about the wave forms, but I’ll read about it. Thanks!

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

Hi slowriter! Here is the image you requested. I am curious to know what you are looking for in this... Oscar Data Dec 13 - 2 min.png What do you base this conclusion on? Which conclusion do you mean? When I am asleep and when I am awake? If so, I have watched a lot of videos and read a lot of threa...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

Thank you for weighing in, Miss Emerita! I will leave the settings for a week and check back. And thanks for the reminders on sleep hygiene. The hardest one for me is getting up if I don't fall asleep in 20 min. I try not to clock watch, but even when I am aware it's been more than 20 min... I...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

As a matter of fact, I was finally able to sleep with CPAP last night! I slept from around 1:00-4:30 and 5:40-8:00. The FLs are much better than they were, but still there. Also, still getting a lot of "CA" events prior to falling asleep, but no desaturations below 94. Below is the whole night of sl...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

Thank you for the explanation. That is very helpful. This is why I wish I was getting a sleep study with EEG-- I don't know whether these FLs disturb my sleep. I just know I have a lot of them and I am constantly exhausted... so it seems worth trying to tackle them and see if I feel better. Below is...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

Yes, I can ask my sleep doctor about sleep meds, but I won't see her for quite a while (have to do my home sleep test and then book a follow-up). In the meantime, I can use melatonin and Benadryl. That is a good idea though. I do understand what EPR does and I appreciate you making sure. (On a side ...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

Actually, yes, that helps a lot! I did try to raise the pressure (with EPR) but I was still struggling to tolerate it, plus then I got freaked out by this, so I put it back down for a few nights to try to go even more gradually. This is very reassuring and I think you are probably right-- perhaps 4 ...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

I am working on my stepwise approach but still struggling. Now I have additional data points through my new Wellue ring and a new question. After a few nights, I notice I consistently experience short O2 drops prior to falling asleep. As soon as I fall asleep my O2 is fine, but I have trouble fallin...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

I tried to set the pressure a bit higher (min 6, max 10) last night and I had a really hard time. I was not able to fall asleep with it on, unfortunately. I feel like I can’t breathe against that much air (even though I know it’s not that much) and when I start to relax, the pressure goes up and bot...
