Re: Who decides what CPAP Machine you get?
A month ago I came due for a new cpap machine, being at the 5 year mark on Medicare. My DME called me to come in, saying they had a machine ready for me. When I asked which machine it was they said they couldn't tell me that information. When I got there, they brought out a Res Vent machine, singing...

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?
Pugsy and Granny, thanks for the replies. That's a relief to know the one week delay won't matter and may even contribute to the protection of the vaccine. I was dreading having to try to find it at another location, since supplies of either vaccine are scarce as hen's teeth here in my area and afte...

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?
I received my first dose of Pfizer at my local Walgreens yesterday. No side effects other than a slightly sore arm. The only way to schedule an appointment is through their online site. It allowed me to schedule dose one and two, but it concerned me that it would only let me schedule my second dose ...

Re: Airsense 10 Making a Wheezing Noise Whenever I Inhale
I've been having this problem also with my Airsense 10. Its 4 years old, so I cant qualify for a new one for another year. I had bought a slightly used For Her model awhile back as a backup which I only used for trips. The wheezing noise was driving both my hubby and me nuts so I got out my back up ...

Re: Using Cpap during a Vertigo attack
Thanks Slartybartfast. Its encouraging to know you had this but that it subsided and you are now able to get on with your life. It's also good to know that cpap use didnt seem to aggravate it. I can relate exactly to the feelings that you're going to fall out of bed or thrown onto the ground when th...

Re: Using Cpap during a Vertigo attack
Thanks Movieman and Miss Emerita. Both of your posts have been helpful. Both mention physical therapy as a means to help the balance issues, which is a big problem for me. Residual dizziness as well. My PCP recommends I only do telephone visits due to covid, being I'm over 60 and have several preexi...

Re: Using Cpap during a Vertigo attack
Pugsy, same here about those maneuvers, the last thing I want to do is make myself dizzier on purpose and afraid of the same thing as you said, messing myself up worse. I dont have the guts to try it either. My episode was spinning for a day, then really bad off balance and dizzy with head movements...

Re: Using Cpap during a Vertigo attack
Pugsy, I've been reading about the rocks getting out of place in the ears and I think that's the type of vertigo I have, bppv, because when it first hit, I rolled onto my left side in bed, and everything started spinning. But it seems it's my right side that's affected because I cant lie on that sid...

Re: Using Cpap during a Vertigo attack
Thank you, Pugsy. Cpap hasnt seemed to make it worse. I felt not quite as off balance when I got up this morning so maybe that means it's not affecting it in an adverse way. I'm sorry you have this too. It's a nightmare for the short time I've had it, and I cant even imagine suffering with it for ye...

Re: Using Cpap during a Vertigo attack
Thank you for your reply. I've tried to schedule an appointment with a neurologist and also an ENT, but in my area, due to covid, there is a 4 month waiting list to get in. I was hoping for some suggestions and information in the meantime while I'm waiting. I apologize if I've come to the wrong grou...

Using Cpap during a Vertigo attack
I've been using cpap for about 4 years. I experienced for the first time, a spinning episode of vertigo a little over 2 weeks ago while sleeping. I went to ER, had CT scan, EKG. Scan showed mucosal thickening of bilateral sphenoid sinuses and ethmoid air cells and mucous retention cysts in both maxi...
