Re: Eligible for a New Machine-My Dilemma
Mind if I slide in this question about the water tank of the 11. It may seem like a non-issue. When you need water, just fill it. For my use, when I fill it to the max, good for one day. For day two, still good. For day three, I have to fill it even when there is still water in the tank. For day th...

Re: Eligible for a New Machine-My Dilemma
I have the air sense 11 and I do like it over the 10, but I don't use a climate line and I didn't have a big supply of air sense 10 parts/accessories to worry about. For me the EPR function on the air sense 11 is superior to the air sense 10. Breathing through the air sense 11 seems so much more nat...

Re: Concerned/Worried - New Air Sense 11 AHI High
Your minimum *and* maximums are too low. Oh, no. I hope not. I saw how the max pressure was topped out. However, I had higher pressure settings before and I kept pulling the mask off at night without remembering it. My doctor even sent me for a sleep study/titration not more than a year ago to see ...

Re: Concerned/Worried - New Air Sense 11 AHI High
This is not how OAs or any apneas are flagged. High leak rates don't flag apneas. Why are your links expiring? Oh, I did not think that high leak rates flag apneas. I thought if leak rates are too high that I would actually get more OAs, Hypopneas, etc., that the machine would flag. My thinking was...

Sounds good. Thanks!vandownbytheriver wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 9:59 pmStill looks like it wants you around 8 or 9 base level. Or just leave it where it is... no biggie, you're doing great.

Re: Concerned/Worried - New Air Sense 11 AHI High
Uhhh... the link expired. Oh! Hard to read then. :D Apologies. The original link was for May 27. The past couple of nights have been better though. I didn't upload last night to SleepHQ yet, but I have May 28 to compare. See below: May 27 Link - High leak rate (time off by an hour): https://sleephq...

Re: personal, at home sleep apnea test?
Would you explain please? I really don't see why a provider (doctor) would be motivated to withhold positional/event information? thanks Oh, I was thinking chunky frog meant the sleep test provider. Not sure either why a doctor would withhold that information if it were in the report. My sleep doct...

Re: Concerned/Worried - New Air Sense 11 AHI High
So stay off your back and/or let the pressure go higher... keep those leaks down. Looks like it wants you around 8cm base level... IMO. Does this look like a leak rate issue or positional to you? I went to sleep on my back and woke up on right side. I think you may right about pressure needing to b...

Re: personal, at home sleep apnea test?
Sleep studies do often have the ability to assess position vs events; but the provider$ are rarely motivated to provide that information to the patient. You can probably $ee why. :D Yes, I see why. My sleep doctor provided me my report upon request. That's how I know my different numbers. Is this d...

Re: personal, at home sleep apnea test?
Have you looked at your sleep study results? The sleep study (if you moved from your back to your side during the test) should show your AHI in different positions. I've seen at home tests for sale on website, but don't know how accurate they are. My at home sleep study scored me in different positi...

Re: Concerned/Worried - New Air Sense 11 AHI High
1) Is this night typical for your usual bedtime and wake up time? The night-time usage of the machine is between 12:40 and 5:25. That's a pretty minimal time in bed. Then add the fact that you turn the machine off and back on at 1:22 and 1:32 means you had at least one extended period of wake or th...

Re: Concerned/Worried - New Air Sense 11 AHI High
Looks positional... see where your pressure pegged at 10cm? I believe that was when you were flat on your back... lots of Flow Limitations and Snore... wanted even more pressure but limited to 10cm. Yes, I did notice that the pressure topped out which was a bit disappointing. I'm hoping this was ju...

Thanks! Much easier. Here is my link.
Thanks for the tip on a new motor. I still have the unit, so maybe I'll look into replacing it. Then, I will have a spare.

Re: Concerned/Worried - New Air Sense 11 AHI High
Thanks for the detailed answer robysue1! I now understand a bit more of how the machine scores AHI and also the difference between sleep/wake breathing. I never heard of the SWJ, but after researching I see how the machine could be scoring what it believes are apneas/hypopneas while not really aslee...

Concerned/Worried - New Air Sense 11 AHI High
Forgot one important detail. I wore the mask for another 20 minutes or so, but didn't fall asleep. AHI was then 19. Hi All, Can anyone explain how a CPAP, specifically the air sense 11, calculates AHI? I just got a new machine and doc gave me the air sense 11. I was using an air sense 10 previously....
