Re: Would you recommend lowering pressure? Air leaving vent keeps me up at higher levels.
That little spike to almost 11 cm is nothing more than a normal pressure probe spike and it means nothing. The machine wasn't responding to anything special. It was just testing the waters. How did you sleep last night? Pretty solidly or very many wake ups? Gotcha. I slept very soundly compared to ...

Re: Would you recommend lowering pressure? Air leaving vent keeps me up at higher levels.
If your machine never reaches the max of 10 then changing it to something higher is unlikely to change anything. The max doesn't do anything if never reached. My machine will go to 25 and I set it to the max just to cover any "what ifs" that might happen but it's very rare that I see even 15 cm any...

Re: Would you recommend lowering pressure? Air leaving vent keeps me up at higher levels.
Last night I used my Bleep mask, as I just received the filter. The air coming out the holes was keeping me awake before, but not last night since I used the filter. Results look much better. Bumped up minimum to 7. Forgot to increase max, but will do so tonight. I am more tired than usual, whichis ...

Got it. I will increase the minimum to 7, and will keep the max at 10, since I don't think the machine has gone beyond 9 ever anyway. Will take a look at the Respironics machine. Thanks a lot.

Re: Would you recommend lowering pressure? Air leaving vent keeps me up at higher levels.
The machine only measures air flow...your breathing. It cannot tell awake breathing from asleep breathing...it treats all breathing (air flow) like you were asleep even though you might be awake. Awake breathing irregularities...it will record and respond to just like you were asleep. It's all it k...

Re: Would you recommend lowering pressure? Air leaving vent keeps me up at higher levels.
All of your input is appreciated; I learned a lot from this thread. I thought the reason why I am at 6.9 is because a part of my brain is still be getting used to having something foreign on my face while sleeping, so I thought within a matter of several weeks or so that my AHI would progressively d...

Re: Would you recommend lowering pressure? Air leaving vent keeps me up at higher levels.
I have been reading on this forum that if the leak rate goes above 24, it is too high. Mine was at 26, so it seems that it is not extremely high, but it is quite possible you are seeing something that I am not, if you could fill me in. Thanks!

Would you recommend lowering pressure? Air leaving vent keeps me up at higher levels.
My doctor recommended lowering my max air pressure from the initial 20 to 10, due to the air leaving the vent waking me up. When it gets to 9, it still wakes me up. It seems that in the big scheme of things, according to the graph posted, that pressure doesn't get up to 9 that often. I was thinking ...

Yes, the past few weeks, they have helped to open the open one more, but unfortunately not much for the closed one. Thanks.

Re: Altering a Dreamwear vent to make it quiet?
The 'annoying' air is CO2, and it needs to dispense into the air, not be kept from doing so or go back into you. There are masks that may be quieter for you, but don't block the vents or you'll rebreathe CO2, which is not a good idea. Worth a try as long as my wife is on standby with an oxygen tank...

Re: Altering a Dreamwear vent to make it quiet?
It's been a few years since this thread was posted, so I thought I would check to see if anyone has been able to successfully put some sort of filter over the front vent of the Dreamwear mask. I get up to use the bathroom every night, and it takes a long time to fall back asleep due to all the air l...

Re: Any reason why one shouldn't use the adaptve humidity setting if one has a heated hose?
Ok, my room is usually at 62 degrees, so maybe the auto setting won’t be sufficient. I came across a sleeve online for hoses today. Is this something that you would recommend? Thanks.

My room humidity is only at 35%, so I thought I needed to crank the cpap up.
