Final reply. I got the battery and failed to get it soldered in correctly. It’s now officially dead. I’m looking for a new or used replacement. Probably go with Transcend because I have the battery and solar panel. Contact me directly if you have a good deal.

I checked the voltage on the battery and it is out of specifications. I’m going to try to replace it and see what happens. Unfortunately it’s not available locally and the $2 battery costs $8 to ship. Better than Amazon pricing AND Amazon refuses to ship the battery to my area of the country.

Since I had nothing to lose, I took it apart. I found a battery inside that is soldered in. I wiggled it to try to get a better connection and when I plugged it in it powered up with the appropriate light flashes. I think I need to change the battery but I’m not sure. I don’t think I have the skills...
