Re: Great AHI but more tired with CPAP than without?
I have relatively mild sleep apnea, What exactly was your "relatively mild sleep apnea" diagnosis based on? What was the diagnostic AHI? Did you have any desats in terms of drops in blood oxygen levels? My most recent "in lab" sleep study is from 4/2015. A summary of that study follows, with a link...

Great AHI but more tired with CPAP than without?
Hi, I'm hoping for feedback on this question: given everything below, is it worth it for me to keep trying to use the CPAP? In short: I'm more tired when I use the CPAP than when I don't. My current theory: I have relatively mild sleep apnea, and, just because of "who I am" ("sleep type", genetics, ...

Re: chin strap recommendation? puffy cheeks
Thanks all. I managed to dig up an old "Respironics Deluxe Chinstrap" (https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respironics-deluxe-chinstrap) and wore it with the DreamWear nasal pillow and somnifix mouth tape last night. It mostly worked really well. Puffy cheeks only woke me up once. I think the combo of ...

chin strap recommendation? puffy cheeks
Hi, I'm a mouth breather, taping my mouth (somnifix), trying to use a nasal pillow. It sort of works (doesn't leak!), but then my cheeks puff out and eventually all the mouth pressure breaks the mouth tape seal. I found that If I wear the Philips Respironics DreamWear Full Face mask, it stops my che...

Trying again - Do I really need CPAP? And mouth breathing/leak questions
First: my sincere thanks to all the people who are maintaining this list and helping others. 50 yr old male. I am trying for the nth time in 10 years to use a CPAP. I've given up on all my other attempts after a handful of nights because of poor mask fit, leaking, discomfort, increased tiredness, et...

Re: OSCAR high leak rate and grey bands
@Dog Slobber -- tx, crystal clear. I realize you didn’t ask about this, but I’m curious. Why are you using a relatively low and fixed pressure? You’re having a fair number of obstructive apneas with that setting. @Miss Emerita -- tx for asking. Basically, I was doing something ridiculous :) I've bee...

OSCAR high leak rate and grey bands
Hi,
Two questions:
- can anyone give me an idea about what would cause such high leak rates? It doesn't happen every night, and I can't think of what might be causing it when it does.
- What are the grey vertical bars on the Flow Rate and Leak Rate graphs?
Thanks!
