Re: Can artificial light damage mask?
Ok, thanks... weird that I had not noticed any degradation before, at least not to the point I wasn't able to breathe with it anymore. You're supposed to clean the mesh on a regular basis, with dishwashing soap and an old toothbrush. I used to simply wash it by hand and under running water with dis...

Can artificial light damage mask?
Sorry for the silly question but, can artificial light (i.e. a lamp) damage parts of a CPAP mask? Here is what happened: Yesterday I went to sleep and put on my Resmed P10 that I have been using for a few days short of a full year. Soon enough I had to take off my mask as I was not getting enough ai...

Re: Central apneas can depend on the position?
a) I noticed that my AHI clearly rises when I sleep on my back. Does this make any sense? Why? I can't speak all technical and knowledgeable like the other posters here but, I'm sure it's a big yes! Although I pretty much never fall asleep while on my back, before CPAP I often reverted to that posi...

Re: myAir app update?
So far so good. The "myAir for Canada" app looks and feel exactly like the old myAir app on my phone, so I don't know why they needed us to do this. Perhaps it's a privacy thing for Canucks / they migrated the Canadian users' database to a different server located in Canada? The old app does not ge...

Re: Sleep Doctor doesn't look at data
From Canada here. My own experience is that I checked all the boxes for good old Obstrusive Apnea so, my GP didn't think a lab test was warranted. I went to a DME that was recommended and where I could get a home test. Did the test, brought it back to the DME who sent the results to a pneumologist t...

Re: Polysomnography
tend to be a light sleeper, have low tolerance for pain, noise, etc. All of these sound like symptoms of sleep apnea. Hopefully, you will see some significant improvement once your CPAP therapy is optimized. Sorry to barge in in a thread not my own but, I never realized that low tolerance to noise ...

Re: Recently privately diagnosed,...in the UK but unsure of next steps.
To 'The Clerk' - are you the OP (Trybius) or not? Sorry, no, I was not the same person as the OP. I didn't want to hijack OP's thread; since Pugsy was mentionning the Exhale relief differences between the Resmed and the Philips, I thought to bring up my RT's comment. It might have been true and, ma...

Re: Recently privately diagnosed,...in the UK but unsure of next steps.
She told me that the Philips Respironics algorythm had recently been updated and that the A-Flex was now more in line with resmed's EPR . She told me that, at this point, they were almost identical. I can't confirm or deny this but, maybe someone could? Well......from the DreamStation reports I am ...

Re: Recently privately diagnosed,...in the UK but unsure of next steps.
I actually prefer the ResMed brand myself. I have used both ResMed and Respironics auto adjusting machines and I prefer ResMed. The auto adjusting algorithm is superior IMHO and it's a bit quieter overall. I've tried both machines, and like a lot of people, I felt as though the PR machine was tryin...

Re: Questions about leaks impact on sleep
It is also normal to just wake up from the brain just wanting to tell us "hey dude, do you know there is an alien stuck to your face and blowing air up your nose". Priceless!!! It might not be perfect but often when I wake up after a night with cpap and having a cold I find I actually have a ...

Re: Questions about leaks impact on sleep
Thanks for the feedback Pugsy, Last morning I was sure that it was an issue because, like I said, I remember awakening and "feeling" like it was a reflex from my mouth opening. Looking at the report, it seems to looks like I sleep through most of the leaks. Nonetheless, I did wake up a couple of tim...

Questions about leaks impact on sleep
Hi everyone, I have been using my CPAP for the last 22 days and, the results as far as AHI are awesome. I am using the Resmed P10 and, things are great, apart from, I presume, some mouth leaks. I tried the ESon 2 for a few days but, fought a bit with the fitting and, simply went back to the P10, ins...
