Re: mandated doctor appointments for supplies?

I need to "see" my sleep Dr. in order to receive supplies. Since insurance pays 100% for them it's worth the $30 specialist "visit" copay. My visit can be virtual so I sit in front of my laptop and see a NP. She seems more interested in how much usage I had than anything else even though the initial...

Re: The rental period is over so I guess I own my machine. Now what?

Thanks everyone. The girl I talked to at BCBS was actually pretty good. I was on with them about another matter and when she asked if there was anything else she could help with I quizzed her about the machine. It sounded like they would take care of it for the 5 years then I get a replacement. I tr...

The rental period is over so I guess I own my machine. Now what?

The 10 month rental period my insurance was paying should be over now since it has been about a year. Now what happens? Excellus BCBS tells me nothing, it's mine. I asked what happens if something goes wrong? They tell me it goes to the DME for repair or replacement if it cannot be repaired and in 5...

Looks like these patents expire in 2023 & 24. They should be able to kick it around in court long enough for them to expire.

Re: Opinions on mouth taping?

I use Hypafix 2" X 11 Yd Tape on the advice of Stuart at Bleep for mouth taping. Takes a little getting used to but boy does it stick. If I put a dog ear on a corner or two and pull it off slowly, it doesn't hurt my skin. I have also started using small pieces on the sides of my Bleep ports to stop ...

Re: Don’t have to stick with the same manufacturer, do I

Try different ones until you find the one you like. I use a Philips Dreamwear nasal and a Bleep with my Air Curve 10. None of the ResMed masks I tried worked for me. If insurance is picking up the tab, contact your DME and they will know when you can get new equipment covered.

Re: Full face to nasal pillow question

I am currently using the Philips gel. I swap back and forth between that and Bleep. I can't seem to get a seal with Bleep but that is another story. I have been taping my mouth shut with Hypafix 2" tape to keep from mouth breathing or snoring. I takes a little getting used to but works very well. Hy...

Re: Hit the magic number

Nice to see the occasional zero, isn't it! About the leaks: are you sure it's the Bleep adhesive that is loosening, and not mouth leaks? I tape my mouth with Hypafix tape that Stuart suggested so I don't believe so. I have been awakened by a stream of air blowing out not only past the ports tape bu...

Re: Hit the magic number

Unfortunately a good bit of the night your leaks were so bad that it is possible that you had some events and the machine simply couldn't sense them because of the large leak. But for a little over 50% of the night....you do get bragging rights. I have noticed that normally the higher the lea...

After 6 months of therapy I hit the magic number.

With the usual struggle to find a mask I liked I settled for Bleep and Dreamwear nasal gel depending on how the Bleep had been sealing at the time. Last night was the Dreamwear.

Do I get a prize or something?

Re: Bleep

I find the bleep leak is always in the same spot on the sides of my nose so I use Nexcare absolute waterproof tape that looks just like the adhesive on the ports and put a little extra on each side every night. Itch wise I also find that jiggling the port where it itches usually stops it. I do have ...

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?

Got my second Moderna shot yesterday. So far no problems. My wife gets hers today. It's kind of a liberating feeling but we are smart enough to follow the rules and be careful for our own sake and others.

One could always wrap the unit in grill weight aluminum foil . . .
Ghislaine Maxwell tried that. Didn't work. You could buy a Faraday cage.

Re: Resmed S9 adapter to battery power-bank

Are there any businesses that specialize in batteries there? There is one near me over here that sells almost any battery you can imagine and rebuilds some rechargeable stuff. Replacing just the cells seems like the only way to go if it's possible. I'm sure they made it so it is difficult to disasse...
