Re: Examples of CPAP Data With Seizures ?

Thanks kbh209 My wife and son have had multiple sleep studies and they showed no seizure activity but they use far fewer probes than an EEG. My son's EEG did show seizure activity but it was 10 years ago and the data seems to be lost. It sounds like the seizure activity was in a strange location. I ...

Examples of CPAP Data With Seizures ?

Hi Everyone My wife and two kids may have a rare form of epilepsy. All three have been prescribed CPAPS. My son had seizure activity under EEG at age 6 but his first observable seizure seems to have been a medication provoked one at age 16(about 6 weeks ago). The dose was so small, it must have turn...

Re: Central Sleep Apnea + Autism

Hi again Pugsy

We might not go with the new nasal mask afterall. We wanted to do this to go to higher pressures but that doesn't look possible.

Re: Central Sleep Apnea + Autism

Hi Pugsy, Hi Miss Emerita Tough day here.... We just got back from the hospital. We had a pneumothorax( collapsed lung ) scare. She is okay but the doctor wants us to discontinue the BPAPS with my wife and son. He is going to look into the long apnea events. We wont' see him until September 12th tho...

Thanks again Miss Emerita :)

I just ordered the book. If I don't have time to read it, my wife said she would in my place.

Re: Central Sleep Apnea + Autism

Hi Miss Emerita Thanks so much for your help and your kind words. Yes it is quite difficult but it is also the tip of the iceberg. I am happy we are home schooling now as that was the nightmare of all nightmares. My wife and kids are all loving and a joy to be around most of the time but they can al...

Re: Central Sleep Apnea + Autism

Hi Pugsy So 55K + posts are not enough, you have to mail stuff around the world !? Why are you not a doctor? It is going to take me a little while to read a 38 page post but I am sure I will learn a lot. Thanks for your feedback with Miss Emerita's comments too. My son is 5'9" and about 130lbs. Both...

Re: Central Sleep Apnea + Autism

Hi Pugsy

Okay, I will buy this mask whether she likes it or not. She is so cheap and would rather pin her dollar store flip flops back together than spend any money on herself...

Sleep Technician Books?

Hi Everyone

I have been receiving fantastic help here. I have learned a lot but I would also like to take the initiative to learn more and possibly even one day help others.

Are there any books you would recommend?

Re: Central Sleep Apnea + Autism

Thanks again Pugsy and palerider. My wife has a lot of pain in her face at 9 cmH2O. She can't chew food on that side of her face yet there is nothing wrong with her teeth or jaw. There is some sort of pain that no one has been able to figure out. She doesn't seem to be able to tolerate the nasal mas...

Re: Central Sleep Apnea + Autism

Thanks Julie. Okay. I am new to this but it does seem very alarming that he is not breathing for 29 seconds and my wife 60 seconds. Not to mention that there are so many of these events in one night and often back-to-back. I don't know why they are not waking up? My wife woke up gasping for breath a...

Re: Central Sleep Apnea + Autism

Hi Guys I hope I am not over-posting to the forum, especially with all these images. Please see my son's results from last night. He had 5.3 AHI and several of them were quite long. I zoomed in on a 29 second one. There was slight flow for a couple of short ones but pretty much all the other events ...
