Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
Your first night...we can hopefully just chalk it up to a lot of poor sleep quality and false positive SWJ sleep/wake/junk stuff. It happens when we change settings. The body and brain takes a bit of time to adjust. Yeah I figured it was just an adjustment period due to the new settings. Well, I wa...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
Okay....next experiment...and I know it is going to sound weird but please give it a try. Fixed cpap mode at 9 cm...or the equivalent in apap mode with minimum of 9 and maximum of 9. EPR still off or EPR in ramp only if you need it and it's okay to use the ramp. Yes...we might see more OAs and hypo...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
I'm adding 4 days worth of charts (Aug 21-Aug 24).
Looks like on the night of the 23rd I had something called a Cheyne Stokes Respiration event.
I tried to do the stop/start whenever I noticed myself waking up, but for some reason I didn't seem to have many wake events (or I just cannot recall them)

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
you seemed so sure that you wouldn't have a problem with EPR just being totally off I didn't think about it. Yeah I really didn't realize what a difference it made for a newbie. I didn't think it would be that bad. I got used to it after a bit, but at first it was pretty daunting. Bear in mind that...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
Given that a lot of those clusters of CAs are occurring while you are power cycling you device, then they can't be happening while you're sleeping. So safe to say those aren't actual central events? Not sure why you turned off ramp though. Honestly, I'm not sure why I decided to turn it off. I gues...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
Let's see what tomorrow's report shows with EPR off. Alright.. I turned off EPR fully. It took more than I thought to adjust to exhaling and actually gave me a bit of anxiety, but I powered through it. Also turned off the ramp, which I had set the previous two nights, and used the stop and start me...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
A glass of wine or whatever at dinner time...not that big of a deal as long as bedtime is a lot later. 4 glasses of wine right at bedtime....totally different discussion....  You know where I am heading with this discussion. https://www.sleepfoundation.org/articles/how-alcohol-affects-qu...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
I requested a copy of my Sleep Study and was provided with it for $5.00 Awesome! I'll email the lab and ask for my copy! If the machine you have is you permanent machine, you got the for Her model because it is the best device that qualifies under ADP as a CPAP machine. I'm fairly sure that this is...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
The part about setting it to cpap at your 90/95 % pressure number is BS though. That's old school and not necessarily what needs to be done in your case even if we weren't facing all these central apneas. I kinda got the feeling that my doc was sort of going through the motions during my diag...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
I don't think anyone addressed that part. That's the machine almost everyone here would recommend for you. The "for her" part of the name refers to an additional algorithm the machine has that was initially designed to treat female users, but has proven quite useful among some male users as well. A...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
I assume no medications that might suppress your respiration???? Specifically pain meds are usually what we are looking at. No prescription meds. The only depressant that I use is alcohol. And I've been tapering that off since the treatment began. Let's see if easy and cheap fixes the situation wit...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
If you do wake up during the night...reach over and turn the machine off and then right back on again. That way we have a clear marker for known awake times and can then maybe discount false positive flagging more easily. Good idea. I'll start doing that. Using EPR creates a bilevel situation becau...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
One more question to add: do you know what the mix of events was in your sleep study (obstructive apneas, central apneas, hypopneas)? If you don't have a copy of your sleep study, I'd recommend you ask for one. In the U.S. you are entitled to have a copy. Pugsy asks about your location; your elevat...

Re: Recently diagnosed, looking to make sense of my data.
Where are you located? I'm in Ontario, Canada. Turn off EPR....if you don't know how the manual explains how to get to the clinical menu setup area. https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed-AirSense-10-for%20her.pdf Okay. I'll turn off EPR for tonight and see what that does.. How are you sleeping? S...
