Re: Very Bummed Out

Hi JL, Don't you just hate it when life throws you several curves at the same time? It sounds like you have a lot to deal with, so naturally it is making adjusting to CPAP more difficult. There is something that I do every night that relaxes me and makes me nod off into a nice sleep. I use a pillow ...

Re: Need Mask suggestions for a petite nose...please

Do any of you who use the Swift LT for Her have allergies or sinus problems? I have previously read that pillows style masks are not good for people with frequent nasal congestion. How do you feel about this?

Re: Need Mask suggestions for a petite nose...please

The designs do look great - until I clicked on the fitting information and saw the sketch of the headgear. Yikes! The headgear looks like a cap which is not my idea of making CPAP more acceptable. I think I'd feel like an old granny. That's probably why I want to try the LT for women when I can get ...

Re: Need Mask suggestions for a petite nose...please

Have you tried the Comfort Gel in Petite ? That is the only mask I can wear. The 406 leaked during my last sleep study and I didn't think it was as comfortable as the Comfort Gel. I would call ahead and make sure they have the petite in stock. Maybe they don't if they didn't put it on you before. Go...

Re: Chin up strips revisited

Joy,

Thanks for that thought. I'll bet you are right. I have some medical tape in the house; can't remember now what it is called. I'll be trying that tonight. Thanks so much!

Re: Chin up strips revisited

I just read this thread with interest as I have been having an undesired effect from mouth taping - acne from where the tape has been. At a youthful 57, I still have breakouts in the T zone. I'm not sure if it is the adhesive, or the fact that the pores are blocked, but I have been experiencing terr...

Re: machine interferes with my nighttime radio listening

It must just be the AM signal that is the problem. I have even dug out my old battery operated transistor radio. You young people won't remember what those are But even the battery operated radio has noise in it. Maybe the metal box would work. Good luck!

Re: Vibratory Snore .. I don't get it

I use a neti pot with homemade saline, but I don't have much success with that clearing my sinuses. What does seem to help is that I use two pillows at an angle and position myself with my head and neck supported by the pillows so that my head is slightly elevated. I have read on usenet groups for s...

Re: Where to buy "gumby tape"?

Just this week I have started taping my mouth as I decided that mouth leaks were probably contributing to my frequent waking and daytime sleepiness again. We had just run out of painters tape, so my only quick solution was band aides. I have been pleasantly surprised by how much better I have slept....

If you have a short nose, the shallow size will not work for you. It will leak into your eyes. Your best bet is to find a petite size mask.

I use the Comfort Gel as that is the smallest mask that doesn't leak on me.

Best of luck

I am very interested in this topic of night terrors. My oldest daughter began having them at 9 months old. She would scream in the middle of the night and could not be consoled. That feeling of her looking at us, but not really seeing us was so frightening! I almost took her to the hospital, but my ...

Re: Call For Help: Explain CPAPtalk In 50 Words or Less

CPAPtalk.com is an online community of CPAP users who gather together in order to exchange knowledge and encouragement as they work towards improving the treatment of Sleep Apnea. Pretty clunky. I've heard and read that Toradol is an EXCELLENT pain reliever but it is an injectable NSAID and I can't "do" NSAIDs. *sigh* Sorry girlsaylor and 6PtStar about your nasty experiences! I have become allergic to all NSAIDs and am frightened about any possible surgery in the future. I had to recover f...

Re: Found a new bed pillow...

I got two of the mediums--it was a buy one get one free deal, so got both pillows for the price of one. I got the mediums and sleep with one on top of the other. The top one I just squish up so accomodate my mask, and it stays the way I squish it. _________________ Cindy, Are you a side sleeper? I ...
