Re: Chinese torture..in the UK from cpap
If you can loose weight and get rid of CPAP, great, luck you are. I don't have this option... Sorry to hear that. 20 is very young to be laboured with this apparatus. But, before think your life is a hell and whatever, just think that are many other people with much worse medical conditions and lif...

Re: Chinese torture..in the UK from cpap
So if you're going to lose the weight, WHY HAVEN'T YOU DONE SO ALREADY???? I presume you're being obtuse because you've had a lack of success dieting, for which I'm sorry to hear. In 2018 I lost 10Kg (and kept it off). I believe I can do it again. Any diet might help you lose weight in the short te...

Re: Clenching neck and jaw all night, drowning sensations, face wrinkling, losing sense of taste
Where's the lie? I got the machine on Friday and have been using it for the past three days, the first two nights of which I've had sticky/dry mouth and clenched jaw. Could be a coincidence but I consider it is related to the machine. Why are you being so hostile? Just because I wanted to choose the...

Re: Clenching neck and jaw all night, drowning sensations, face wrinkling, losing sense of taste
I also have lower-jaw clenching/discomfort. Feels like I cannot sit my tongue anywhere comfortably in my mouth. Have had it occasionally even before using CPAP, I think it was back when I used to chew gum, but it came back as soon as I started using CPAP for some reason also.

Re: Chinese torture in the UK from cpap
I made the first change in subject title to include UK info so the UK members would maybe spot it and help out. I was trying to be nice and help out..... Then someone removed my edit...hmmm...we know who did that because there are only 2 people who can do that....me and the OP So then I changed it ...

Re: Chinese torture
It'd be great to know what kind of mask you have. People might be able to give you some advice about the noise problem. Can you take a picture of it and post it? Thanks again for your post. It is most helpful. I'll see about producing a picture. I was out cycling hills and forgot to premed for my a...

Re: Chinese torture
* Did you have a sleep study? If so, tell us something about your diagnosis: mild, moderate, or severe apnea? Do you know what they said your AHI is (apnea/hypopnea index)? Or did they tell you the main problem is not apnea but low oxygen levels at night? Hi Emerita, thanks for your post. My sleep ...

Re: Chinese torture
Sorry but I have no intention of living like this forever. I'd sooner kill myself. But before that, I'll lose the weight as I've been told this is often a way to cure it. I'll never get a girlfriend if she sees I need this to live. That is no way to live. I don't care if you've made peace with it an...

Chinese torture..in the UK from cpap
I just got given a Philips DreamStation because I'm so fat (91Kg, 5'9") I need assisted breathing apparatus to sleep. With a name like DreamStation you might expect it would be pleasant, but this is a Chinese torture device. You stick rubber over your nose which restricts breathing whilst shotgunnin...
