Re: Help with OSCAR Report from Loewenstein Prisma Smart

Any chance you have long Covid? Its possible that I have long covid, after my last covid infection (February 2023) i developed long term intermittent congestion and my sense of smell and taste have been permanently affected - not completely gone but very weak. When people tuck their chins down towa...

Re: Help with OSCAR Report from Loewenstein Prisma Smart

Some thoughts and questions. You may not be getting enough sleep. Most people need 7 to 8 hours of actual sleep, which may mean more like 7.5 to 8.5 hours in bed. You might try making more time for sleep. Do you take any medications? If yes, what are they? Quite a few: bisoprolol (beta blocker), ca...

Help with OSCAR Report from Loewenstein Prisma Smart

Hi all, I've been using a Loewenstein Prisma Smart APAP for 4 years now with a nasal mask and pressure settings @ 7-10 cmH2O. So far I've had slight improvement of some of the more severe symptoms - like waking up with frequent headaches and my brain feeling completely "fried" / foggy after waking u...

Re: Does treatment make sense for me and how to get started

I have no idea which one I would be more likely to use because i have never even tried on any of them. But Pugsy does make a good argument so Im gonna go with the nasal pillow for now and see how it goes. I ordered the recommended machine and nasal pillows, I'll get back to you guys when they arrive...

Re: Does treatment make sense for me and how to get started

Thanks for the feedback guys! They do have the S10 AirSense Autoset for her for quite a good price actually. If you guys recommend it i'm willing to give it a try. Next order of business would be the interface. Generally I dont breathe through my mouth much as far as I am aware but im not a 100% sur...

Re: Does treatment make sense for me and how to get started

I'm in Germany. Should be pretty easy from what I've seen, there are online stores that sell this stuff. I've seen a Philips Dreamstation Auto CPAP available for around 700€ for example.

Re: Does treatment make sense for me and how to get started

At this point I'm willing to try, not sure what else to rule out that would affect my sleep this consistently. Even though the report says I don't snore that much (maybe I had a good night or something) I've been told on multiple occasions that I snore quite loudly, and I've caught this on audio wit...

Re: Does treatment make sense for me and how to get started

Thanks, I really appreciate you taking the time to look into this! What equipment did they stick on you? A nasal cannula I assume and obviously the pulse oximeter on your finger. Did they have you wear some sort of chest or abdominal belt? Did you have any wires or leads or sticky things on your fac...

Re: Does treatment make sense for me and how to get started

Now did this sleep lab actually separate a respiratory related arousal from spontaneous arousal.....???? It was a bit hard for me to get a picture of since it isn't in English. Is there a Respiratory Disturbance Index or RERA number or index?? It distinguishes between respiratory, motoric and spont...

Re: Does treatment make sense for me and how to get started

How many hours of sleep do you normally get? Between 7 and 9 hours, on average I'd say close to 8. Are those hours fragmented by a lot of wake ups? If so, any idea why? Usually no. Occasionally, I'll get up to pee in the middle of the night but that's maybe once or twice a month. Do you take any me...

Re: Does treatment make sense for me and how to get started

I usually start out sleeping on my side and wake up either on my side or my back.

The AHI itself is not that bad but there are a lot of spontaneous arousals. Could that be explaining the issue?

Does treatment make sense for me and how to get started

First off a little summary of my diagnosis so far: I started the whole process of getting diagnosed about 4 years ago while morbidly obese at 300lbs at 5'6 and did one of those home tests provided by a local clinic, which came back with an AHI of 16. They then asked me to come in for a sleep test in...
